Are the caps solid or hollow? Can they hold the weight of a small planter sitting on top?
They are solid, likely can hold a planter but we wouldn't advise walking on the caps or something like that.
Could you tell me which of these caps have more of a reddish tone? Hard to tell by the photos.
Most likely the Desert Sunrise cap, but it will be more tan than red. All of our pieces are paintable, just use premium exterior paint.
Can this panel hold any weight or do you need to cut out a hole? Planning to build small columns to place a pergola on.
It would be best to pass the post through a hole in the center. To do so, cut down two seams on the cap, remove a void in the center and then piece the cap back together with adhesive and our color match caulking to conceal the seam.
Are the caps mostly a solid color or is it sort of a marbeled mingly color throughout? Thank you
The pillar cap will be a solid color but there is some light white throughout to ensure it looks like real stone.

Correct, just the top of the cap is flat, the rest is sloped to shed water. Our column cap is much flatter, but it is 23" x 23"

Is the flat pillar cap truly flat from edge to edge? The image makes it appear peaked with a flat top, not truly flat edge to edge.
No it's not completely flat, it slopes down from the flat square part you're referencing. We do have a 23" x 23" flat column cap that is completely flat.
Do you make a version with a center cut out to allow a pole to pass through?
No, not out of the box, but many of our customers do exactly what you're describing. You would cut along one of the seams from the corner, use a jig saw or drywall saw to create a void for the pole and then use our eXact color caulking and paint kit to conceal where you made the cut and weatherproof around the pole.
