Thank you for your interest in the GenerLink. However, currently PG&E isn't allowing the GenerLink to be installed into their service area. We have been told they should have their evaluation completed by the end of 2nd qtr. Please feel free to contact our office at: 800-886-3837 in August to see if we have a reply from them. All testing they started was stopped due to COVID-19. Global Power Products
Turn off all your breakers. When you hook up generator with the cord generlink supplies then start the generator it will switch off line power to generator power to run your test. Turn off generator when done and it will switch back to line power.
Because the GenerLink is a very unique piece of equipment and is installed in the meter socket. We must phone every customer to verify who the power provider is to ensure we are following their guidelines for this device. All power companies do not allow the GenerLink to be installed into their service area. If you have any additional questions, please phone our office at: 800-886-3837. Global Power Products
I would say yes. The manufacturer is in Georgia (USA), which is a fairly humid area, as is Seattle. Check with your local utility company to see if they allow the device (some utilities don't). I'd also recommend (read that REQUIRE) that a licensed electrician install the device, as a neutral wire has to be properly connected from the Generlink at the meter service. Also, you MUST use a proprietary Generlock power cable with the transfer switch. This is an extra cost item if you need a cable longer than the standard 20 foot cable.
The generator must be 240 volts with a 4 prong receptacle to make the GenerLink function. We recommend the generator being between 4500 - 10,000 continuous running watts. You can't use adapters or extensions with the GenerLink. It will not function. You can find a list of compatible generator on our web page; www.generlink.com "choosing generators", or you can phone us directly at: 800-886-3837. Global Power Products.
Your generator is to large to use with the generlink. A wen DF1100 is largest that is compatible. This is the generator I have and it powers 1800sf house fine including ac.
Contact your local utility and ask them. Also you can contact the Generlink folks at Global Power Products. (Point your search engine to Generlink.) They can 1) tell you if your utility allows their products, and 2) tell you if your generator is compatible with the Generlink products.
