I purchased this pressure washer about two months ago and have only used it a few times; maybe about five to six hours of use at this point. I don't have an opinion yet about it's durability. I spent weeks researching different pressure washers before settling on this one. I have a large circular driveway and a fairly large concrete patio and pool deck behind the house. My last pressure washer was a Generac with 2700 psi and 2.3 gpm. I had it for over five years and never had a problem with it. It always started right up and ran well. Once I purchased this one, I gave the old one to my brother-in-law and he loves it. I wanted to upgrade because the last one would take up most of my weekend to clean my driveway and back patio. I like the fact that Generac products are made in the U.S.A., and because I had such good luck with my last Generac pressure washer, I decided to go with their biggest one. I was able to get it on sale with a 10 percent coupon that HD sent me in the mail, which lowered the price substantially. This machine is much bigger than it looks in photos; it's truly a beast. But because the handle folds down though, I'm able to store in my garage without any issues. It really doesn't take up much more room than my last one. I picked it up at HD and one of their employees helped me load it into the back of my nephew’s van. The box was too big for my mid sized SUV. It came pretty much fully assembled. I unfolded the handle and had to screw on the hose holder, which took a couple of minutes. The wheels and everything else were already assembled. I didn’t know what to expect with the unboxing, but it was surprisingly easy. The big pneumatic wheels make it fairly easy to maneuver around, although the machine is still extremely heavy and cumbersome. If not for the wheels, it would be a challenge to get it through the yard to the back of my house. It also has a big powerful engine, which is not as easy to start as my last pressure washer. Once I figured it out, I can start it without any problems. One pull on the starter cord will build up pressure in the pump, so if it doesn't start on the first pull, I have to pull the trigger on the wand to release the pressure. This has to be done after every pull if the engine doesn't start right up. When pulling the starter cord, gently pull it out until you feel resistance, then give it a full pull. Once it gets going, slowly close the choke and then adjust the engine rpm's from probably 25 percent to full throttle. Once the engine is warmed up, it starts back up easily. Because of the amount of power coming from the wand, Generac recommends always wearing protective eyewear when using this pressure washer. I would completely agree. This is a serious piece of equipment, and it needs to be handled safely. I saw other reviews where customers complained how this pressure washer shook so violently that the wheels broke off. I keep my on level ground and it runs very smoothly, especially for such a big engine. I think all gas powered pressure washer vibrate a certain amount, but this one is not excessive at all. The power is definitely more than I need as a homeowner, but I have no regrets. I'm able to clean all my concrete at least three times faster than before. It comes with a 50 foot hose, and I bought a second 50 foot hose as an accessory. I have a faucet next to my garage that I hook the machine up to with a 10 foot garden hose, and I can leave it parked in the same spot while cleaning my entire driveway and curb in front of the house. It produces so much power that cleaning with 100 feet of pressure hose is effortless. I also purchased the Ridgid 18 inch surface cleaner (with four wheels), and it matches up incredibly well with this pressure washer. One of the projects I used this pressure washer on was mold buildup on the roof portion of my pool screen enclosure that my wife wanted me to clean. I used a second story kit (pink and blue tips) to get the job done. They don’t come with the pressure washer, so you have to purchase them separately. The pick allowed me to spray detergent on the mold from a pretty good distance. I let it dwell for 10 or 15 minutes and then hit with a blue tip, which lets you rinse from a distance. The more gpm's your pressure washer has, the better the pink and blue tips work. It cleaned up the mold like a champ and left my screen enclosure looking much better. My driveway and back patio look fantastic too. I'm truly pleased with this pressure washer and would highly recommend it.

A friend let me borrow his power washer to clean off a tree stump that was rip out of the ground during a storm. This thing has great pressure and it was very easy to start. Long handle was awesome for reaching hard spots. The pressure was constant never lost the strong stream. The hose I think was kinda longer than normal witch is good. Only draw back I found was the wheels were a little small it was kinda a pain to get it up and down stairs but that's a small draw back this thing is fantastic not cheap but if you want something that will last buy it!!!

Great performance but...watch out for that axle snap ring!!!!
MINOR CON: Adding oil to the motor is a bit tricky given its placement. MAJOR CON: Vibration from motor caused snap ring to come off axle, Axle vibrated out and unit collapsed. This was on first use on day 1. Ring was unable to be found (probably "blown away"). I was very annoyed that I had to stop, clean up and go buy one on my new $900 unit. LIVID. With my new 25 cent snap ring now installed on day 2 being cautious I was looking for it and the snap ring again came off the axle. NOTE: axles and wheels come assembled on unit. Problem seems to be a design flaw given the obvious vibration when unit is used. . PROS: As advertised it is a VERY powerful pressure washer and it cut the time down on my job significantly. Starts easy but you need to be able to give it good rip on the pull (older users may be challenged). Performanc was excellent.

A Serious Pressure Washer
"The right tool for the job" has been my motto in jobs around the home and my business and this beast is the right tool for pressure washing anything at the commercial or domestic level. We wash the swimming pool deck, the tennis court, the decks, the patios, exterior walls, fences, and a lot more! It's so much fun, friends and neighbors get some love, too.

Incredible Power
OUT OF THE BOX The pressure washer was easy to set up. All the usual stuff – pour in the included oil, attach the hoses. My only complaint is they need to elaborate in the instructions what the siphon tube is and exactly where it gets attached. The instructions only say “Attach siphon tube” and have a drawing with an arrow pointing to one location on the pressure washer. The problem is the tube has two ends. I came to the conclusion that I THINK it is used for soap. You attach one end to the pressure washer, and the other end goes in the soap solution…I think. USING THE PRESSURE WASHER This thing has POWER. It is way more powerful than anything I am used to. To get used to it, I started with the widest angle nozzle (“Wash”) and didn’t power the engine up all the way. I recommend everybody else do the same. This thing can do serious damage if you’re not careful. Everything about the pressure washer is high quality – the engine started on the first pull, the hose is heavy duty, the sprayer is well made and has a nice handle for better control. There is one feature I’m not happy with – the hook to hang the hose when not in use. It’s just a piece of metal. There’s no easy way to hang it so that it stays in place. It unravels itself and scrapes the ground. There should be something to wrap it around, not just hang it on. BOTTOM LINE If you need a high power pressure washer, this one won’t let you down. It has plenty of power and has a very reliable engine.

Top quality pressure washer
When you think of Generac, you think of high quality generators, not pressure washers. I didn't even know they made pressure washers ,until I saw this. Just as their power producing generators, this piece of machinery is top notch. At 3800 PSI it quite powerful for stripping a deck or washing a car. My main use for this is washing my 35 foot travel trailer, and without a doubt, this gets the job done perfectly. The Generac has a belt driven pump, which should provide a much longer life than a direct drive unit. It allows the pump to run at a much lower RPM and in turn, it runs much cooler. While the unit is quite heavy, it rides on large tires which enable it to be pushed around with ease. Another great feature is the throttle control. You can run it slow to save fuel, or put it to max power for some real heavy duty cleaning. It also has 5 different nozzles for whatever job you are doing. Overall, I would recommend this pressure washer to anyone looking to buy a well built, long lasting piece of machinery. Generac has the world of power and water mastered.

Top Notch
I bought this pressure washer after doing days and days of research - I had three choices - DeWalt, Simpson, and This Generac. The final decision came down to Made in the USA! actually that carried a ton of weight in my decision. I've use this pressure washer on 3 different job - and 3 different levels of dirt and mildew. On full pressure and a 15 degree tip - this beast not only cleaned a deck - but completely stripped off the old sealant - as the owner was wanting to completely renew their deck. I also bought several different attachments which are necessary to completely clean a home - I bought a gutter cleaner (turn down the pressure for this) - an extension pole to reach the 2nd story with my feet on the ground, and two different type of surface cleaners - one broom type and one round circle type. I have completely followed the manufacturers directions - changed the oil after the first 5 hours of operation - - and yea You do have to use more than a quart of oil - but hey thats life - If your buying this level of a pressure washer, chances are you'll have a spare quart of oil to add to the initial fill. My only minor complaints- the nut that screws down on the pressure adjustment on the pressure washer has come loose twice due to the vibration of the machine - however luckily for me the nut stayed inside the "well" of the pressure adjustment - -and for the price paid, it would have been nice to have a better (quality) siphon tube and filter for detergent applications

My second Generac washer
I had a Generac 2700 psi 2.3 GPM washer for 7 years and it worked always well. Sold it to upgrade and since I had very good experience with this brand I chose a Generac 4200 psi / 4.2 GPM commercial model. This is a beast and very powerful. Features and performance are first rate I would not even look at other brands. Very happy. One issue soured the experience though ... I would recommend against buying direct from Generac and buy locally or from amazon. The freight and LT delivery process is very slow and uncoordinated. Took almost two weeks to get the washer to us and the LTL forwarder from the national freight chain took almost three days from receiving the washer to get it to us. No communication in the process either. The freight and delivery process is hot mess! Buy from somewhere where you are sure of how the washer gets to you!
