This Generac 8,000-Watt Gasoline Powered Portable Generator features an electric start that allows you to push a button to easily power up the generator. Great for use at jobsites, events and in emergency backup applications, this generator has a 410CC OHVI engine and an illuminated control panel with start/stop, fuel shut-off and choke controls. The super-efficient OHVI engine also offers extended run times for optimum performance when you need it.

Can this generator be run outside (not covered) when raining heavily? How well does it regulate the Volts and Hz? Many UPS will not work if input differs too much from clean sinewave at 120 V and 60 Hz

Which octane is best?

Generac recommends using regular unleaded gasoline for model #5747. Do not use premium gasoline, gasoline with more than 10% alcohol (such as E85) and do not mix oil with gasoline.
