General Tools has grown to become the recognized industry leader for specialty hand tools and instruments. The DM8200 is 1 of a family of manometers whose measurement range and resolution ideally suit it for a particular application. With a range of 0 to 100 psi and a resolution of 0.1 psi, for the DM8200 that application is measuring manifold pressure.

This is a very nice little meter that will more than pay for itself in a short time if you need to measure pressure or differential pressure.
The Kit Consists Of:
1 - Meter
1 - Blow Mold Case
1 - 9 Volt Battery
2 - 24" Lengths Of Test Tubing
1 - Instruction Manual
This little tool is a blessing for anyone that does testing on LPG systems found in RV's and Natural gas setups in homes. Seems that RV's are really touchy about how much pressure is needed to run all the different items used. They need to be balanced or you may have a appliance that starves for gas when other appliances are in use. With this meter you can find and diagnose these types of problems. Some RV's have soft copper tubing that can easily be crushed and then have appliances that only work when they are the only item demanding gas. With the balancing test on this meter you can tap at differing points to spot problems before they become big problems.
This meter can test systems up to 100 PSI, this is way over what any LPG or Natural gas system is set to but it can be useful in setting up other items. This meter can also be powered by an outside 9 volt source and has a RS-232 port for logging.
The case for the meter is great! There are pockets and spaces for test connectors and other small parts needed for general testing.
There are only two things that could make this kit better; one would be better test hoses. The hoses provided are very stiff and hard. I replaced these with some silicone tubing for the majority of testing. And the screens back light could be brighter. Its good for areas that are really dark but in marginal lighting conditions it’s a bit to dim.
Overall this is a very nice meter and should be considered if your in the market for pressure test equipment.

It is a no fuss no mass working horse manometer for hvac differential air pressure measurement, and a very precise at that.
Available scales and scale increments are perfect for me, they offer plenty of customization, but as long as they have PSI, I'm fine. Also, it offers resolution of 0.003 psi, which is unheard of on other more expensive products that are 0.005psi. Measurement precision is perfect at +-3% and very suitable for any job.
At that price it is just a must but piece of equipment for any hvac technician and it would allow to effectively pinpoint pressure and airflow immediately.
Materials used are great, fiber reinforced nylon, buttons very sturdy and power is supplied by a standard 9v battery.
Practically you can use own hoses, but the ones that are supplied with the manometer are the expensive type that gives off the least amount of pressure drop at longer distances. You get about 2 feet of length for each of the two sensors.
There are no gaps anywhere, very good water ingress prevention design and superb drop resistance.
It's a top quality product at an unbeatable price.

I selected the General Tools manometer to perform pressure drop measurements across HVAC filters and coils. My primary line of work is larger air conditioner units and efficiency performance. I typically use dial gauge manometers so I was glad to see an affordable digital manometer with an assortment of measuring options - psi, inH2O, kPa, ftH2O, inHg, and others.
My primary scale is inches in water and that scale is in the range of 1 inch or less.
The General Tool DM8200 is very nicely packaged. A form fitted hard case to keep the meter well protected. Includes the 9 volt battery and 2) 30 inch long connection hoses.
The meter has an easy to read display and has a backlight when needed. Changing measurement options is easy as well by just selecting "UNIT" button to scroll through the option list.
I was needing to test pressure drop across air filters and the cooling coil. I started with the DM8200, however, when first powering the meter on the display was showing 1 inch (set to inH2O). Thinking this odd for being new instrument I zeroed the meter. I connected the included hoses and set to measuring my air filter pressure drop (differential). Again, the meter showed 1 inch. Knowing this was not accurate I switched hoses, no change. I moved on the check coil pressure drop. Again, the DM8200 showed 1 inch. I checked the reading with other units of measure and it seems the DM8200 could not acurately measure the low end of my units pressure.
I proceeded to check static pressure which I know to be around 1.5 inches. The DM8200 again did not display accurate measurement. I compared my measurements of the DM8200 against a Dwyer magnehelic which is strictly inches of water measurement. The Dwyer consistently read reliable pressure both differential and static.
Thinking maybe the included battery was too weak for reliable measurement I changed the battery, however experienced the same result.
I am also disappointed that the DM8200 doesn't measure fractions (tenth) in inches when under 1 inch; it only goes to whole inch and up.
While the General Tools DM8200 meter is a nice design and is likely a good meter for other applications, however, for what I selected the meter for it is not able to measure.
Pros:
-nice storage case, form molded design keeps the meter safe
-good size, similar to a volt/amp meter, fits well in my hand
-good features/options, easy to change functions
Cons:
-hoses are too rigid, keep wanting to coil back up
-meter lacks measurement scale of less than 1 inch H2O
-meter read a value of 1 inch H2O out of the box, not connected to anything. Easy enough to zero the meter though
Overall the DM8200 is a good meter but maybe for something outside what I am expecting the meter to measure. Maybe I should have gotten a lower scale range meter like the DM8215.

The general instruments monometer is a must have for hvac, and some plumbers. It's very user friendly and easy to use and set up. The monometer comes in a very nice blow molded case to hold the tester and accessories in, and it even comes with batteries. The unit has every type of unit of measurement that you would expect and use. The tubes make a very nice tight fit so there's no leaking or chance of getting in accurate measurements. It very easy to cycle through the different units of measurements and read the display. Perfect for plumbers to check propane or natural gas pressure on heaters and boilers.

This unit is easy to use. Make sure you read the directions or you might make yourself a little frustrated. Once educated on this manometer, It will do exactly what it's supposed to do. The actual meter is compact & feels a little cheap (light weight) in plastic but it comes with a battery and hoses so you can start using it immediately. Just don’t drop it from too high. You might lose a price or break it. Duh, lol. The case is perfect! Helps you stay organized. Compared to others this is a good find.
Power Panel Cat5/5e/6/6a/7/8 Digital Volt Meter with Probe
The Triplett/ByteBrothers POEILT Power PanelThe Triplett/ByteBrothers POEILT Power Panel Cat5/5e/6/6a/7/8 DVM is the right tool at the right time because once connected, it goes to work scanning each pin on a connector and displaying both the activity and the pair location (Network devices, phones or Power over Ethernet). POE1000ILT Power Panel CAT5/6 DVM Tester is the perfect tool for detecting active network devices, power for VoIP phones, IP cameras and other devices on RJ45 jacks and cables. Once connected, the POE1000ILT goes to work scanning each pin on a connector and displaying both the activity and the pair location. In addition, the POE1000ILT Power Panel has the ability to connect between 2 devices ("inline"). Inline connections allow passing PoE power to the device monitoring the device while it is on. In addition, when placed inline between 2 devices, the power draw of the device can be measured in watts. Too much power draw is the number 1 reason for IP/PoE network failure. It also includes a full-featured, filtered tracer probe. The probe is used as a wire locator to audibly trace the wires connected to the Power Panel main unit. It features a tone button, volume control, ultrabright LED lighted tip, and 2 status LEDs to visually identify the tone and the other to warn you that there is 60hz present in the area. The probe has a built-in filter to minimize fluorescent hum.View Full Product Description
