I have wanted a meter to balance my homes forced air HVAC ductwork vents. This Gereral Tools Digital Manometer should do the trick. The meter comes in a nice plastic molded case, with the manometer, 9 volt battery, two lengths of tubing, and the meters instruction manual. The meter has differing gauge modes to fit the users exact need. It has a large digital display that's easy to read. Measures pressure differential as either negative or positive.

How do you eyeball your air flow in your boiler or furnace so it does not run too hot nor choke o...
How do you eyeball your air flow in your boiler or furnace so it does not run too hot nor choke out from a lack of air? The answer: you cannot unless you use a manometer. I use mine to check my boiler's flue stack air flow by putting one tube into a small hole inside my flue, and the other tube inside my boiler's damper. When i t comes on, I measure the flue draft. Why is this important? A boiler runs best when the chimney draft matches the boiler's specifications. Change the oil burner nozzle size and you have to change the air setting and recheck the chimney draft. Easy enough to do but impossible to do without a manometer. Without proper draft, the boiler or furnace can waste fuel or soot up fast. Operating efficiency cannot be achieved through intuitive or eyeball adjustments. Draft must be measured and this is always good to check but essential after a boiler or furnace tuneup. Changing the parts AND checking draft=a properly working boiler/furnace. The product was priced right, and the screen is easy to read. It has a year warranty. This indispensable tool puts boiler and furnace tuneups within the reach of a homeowner. I recommend this product.

The General Tools, 5 PSI Digital Manometer with Tubing is great for measuring inches of water column and pressures up to 5 PSI to include a robust number of alternate conversions selected from the manometer its self. Despite the great number of reasons, a low-pressure manometer is needed, my main needs and interest is for diagnosing gas furnaces with a digital manometer over the old low-pressure gauge I had been using. HVAC maintenance and repair are a hobby of mine for family, friends, and neighbors. Pressure switch faults are common and the only way to know if a pressure switch is truly at fault is with an accurate manometer like the General Tools low pressure manometer that can accurately measure furnace pressures. The manometer I received from general tools does seem to need to be left running for a few minutes to stabilize since it is measuring very small increments of pressure. Once it has stabilized, it is very accurate. I have also substituted some of the tubing as low pressure measurements do not require strong tubing and softer more flexible tubing is easier to work with. And the higher-pressure manometer’s made by General Tools will need strong tubing as supplied to measure pressures at the upper end of the manometer’s range. The storage case for the manometer offers plenty of room for extra tubing and tubing fittings to connect for measuring a variety of pressures, to include room for a spare battery. All in all, the General Tools 5 PSI manometer is a great tool for my needs as well as professionals.
