what size grommets. I need 1/4"
Asked by: Fred
Drill size is 5/32 if I recall. Grip range is not given but my guess is less than 1/8”. Buy several of these, as they break very easy.

EYELET SETTING PLIERS (100-PIECE)

WHAT SIZE GROMMETS DOES THE TOOL HANDLE
Asked by: PAAPAA2
4 mm (5/32) - that should be in the product title as it wasn't clear to me either. It is buried in the product description.

DO NOT BUY - I purchased these pliers today and one of the handles broke the FIRST time I used it. I was using the pliers to put an eyelet through a nylon strap. I pre-cut a hole in the nylon and used one of the copper eyelets. You can tell that the pliers are cast from a very soft, low quality steel but I didn't expect the handle to split on the very first usage. I have the receipt and will be returning them tomorrow. I will also ask that the failure of the product be brought to the attention of store management so that they can consider selling eyelet pliers from a different manufacturer.

For those who do not have the hand strength to squeeze the tool, I have found that the easiest way to use this tool is to use the pliers to hold the eyelet, then place one end of the tool on a solid surface and lightly tap the other end of the tool with a small hammer to set the eyelet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised If you you look at the photos closely you'll notice that you need to loadthe eyelet on the side that doesn't have the metal cone. Works great after that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Got the job done. I bought this tool because I was making an archery arm guard, and it was available in store. This was a good buy for $5, because it got the job done. It got me through the 16 eyelets I installed. These are the right size to run a 1/8" suede lace through. Biggest set back for me is the spring open mechanism works like a paper hole punch, which means that you are fighting against it to close the rivet. With my hand strength I ended up tapping it with a hammer to close it all the way. I've never worked with eyelets before, but this was a good intro to it. In the future I'll be using a grommet hand punch that requires the use of a hammer. On a side note: If I wanted more eyelets I would have to buy them from a craft store because I don't see anywhere HD sells these 5/32" eyelets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for what I wanted I purchased this tool because I needed to fix an eyelid in a pair of my favorite sneakers and this product did everything I wanted it to do! Fast, convenient and easy to use! I would recommend this tool to anyone that would use it for what it is designed to do because it works perfectly!
