Can it detect if cold & hot spots? Air leakage? In other words, can it detect if windows or doors have leaks? Of if the surrounding areas of a window (or a door) is poorly insulated and has leaks? Can it detect if walls have adequate or insufficient insulation?

Can i use this thermometer for cooking or baking

Asked by: Julia
Probably wouldn't work well for baking. This thermometer reads surface temperatures and won't read the internal temperatures of foods, for example roasted meats in an oven. A thermometer that you can stick into the center of the food would be the most accurate. For cooking food on a stove top, I would again use a thermometer that you can place into the food beyond the surface, especially if you are cooking something that is temperature-critical, such as candy making. Although I wouldn't recommend this thermometer for food, it sure works great for other uses!
