If I could I would rate this a ZERO! This tool is DANGEROUS! Metal handles can electrocute the user! I refuse to allow any of my employees to use a metal-handled magnet. Funny thing about magnets and job-sites with anything electrical. They are an accident waiting to happen. Get anywhere near a metal electrical box or power tool and the two become one with all the little pointy things between or poked in them!. There is a better, stronger, wooden-handled tool for the same money... It is the ORIGINAL attractor magnet! Also available from Home Depot. No - unfortunately they do not stock it in the stores. You have to order it on-line to be delivered to the store or your home. Pickup Stick Magnet
I bought this for a Halloween party. Instead of bobbing for apples and taking the chance of giving everyone the flu, I was going to try having the kids fish for plastic apples that had magnets in them. However, this product is good for picking up staples maybe if that. I had square magnets about an inch long and It was worthless. Seriously, unless I put the magnet right to the bottom of the product, it didn't pick up anything. I ended up hanging the apples in the air and ditching the magnets.

Magnet not secured well.
Works as designed but somehow the magnet came out and was lost the first week of use.
