Is it accurate to measure moisture in cinder block basement wall?
Our moisture meters are not capable of reading accurately in cinder black due to the increased conductivity in concrete. This is similar to the reaction you will see when scanning metal; these units are reacting to the conductivity in the material, and not to any moisture, making the readings untrustworthy.
Checking moisture in my home under the sink as it has particle board and cabinets and wsll spaces is this adequate?

How do you use this to test for moisture in wood
To measure wood, press and hold the power button, press "Mode" to select "Wood", remove the cover on the end to expose the pins, press the pins into the wood either on the end of a split piece of wood or on its side. The inside of a freshly split piece is the best place to measure to get the overall moisture content, but the end is ok to get a quick general idea. The display will indicate the moisture content, and a light will indicate whether that is "Low", "Mid", or "High". You can also measure the calibrated resistor inside the cap to assure that it is measuring correctly. An extra set of pins are included in case the test pins are damaged.
Is this suitable for measuring moisture content of textiles
The MM7 is designed for use in woodworking, water damage restoration, building construction and home renovation.
