Product Overview

Perform laser-like cuts up to 2 in. deep with the 16 in. variable-speed scroll saw from Genesis. The ultra-fine blade on this tool produces smooth, exacting wood cuts that leave flush edges rarely needing sanding. This quiet 1.2-Amp machine has variable speeds (400-1600 SPM) to adjust for different materials and patterns while a dust blower keeps your work surface free of debris. Maneuver objects up to 16 in. wide across a table that can be tilted up to 45° for beveled cuts. Woodworkers involved in marquetry or those needing to make pierce cuts will be enamored with this device.

The slot on the right side of the table is for the cutting guide which can adjust from 90 to 45 degrees. There is no need to rotate cutting plate. This saw is designed to cut in the facing direction or the right facing position depending on installation of the blade. The seven markings at the rear of table are templates for guide setting.

The heavy cast base keeps tool from moving. The overall depth for cutting allows you to work with longer material than other scroll saws.

The saw itself is not engineered properly. I used it for one day and broke a bearing in the blade mechanism. I returned it and bought a Porter Cable to replace it. The blower tube does not produce enough air to do anything and even if it did it bounces so much that it can't be directed to any one point. The safety devices included with this product are useless. With all of them installed it is impossible to see the blade or what you are cutting. the only way I could use the saw was to remove all of the safety items, not a good plan. There is a sticker on the table of the saw when it comes out of the box that is almost impossible to remove. Once the sticker is removed you are left with half of the table covered in sticky goo. The saw has plenty of power and the variable speed works nicely.
