Q:Why don't you have universal UPS's that just plug in between he outlet and the opener? Seems kind of dumb and short sighted to make one, but have it incompatible with the vast majority of openers.
There is a good sized market, and nobody is servicing it.

So far so good
I installed this with a Genie screw drive and so far, it works good. I unplugged the opener to test, and it opened fine with the battery, using the wired wall opener, the included remotes, and via the app.

Ready to open/close without power
An essential item for anyone living in a community like mine that loses electric power from their utility service more often than a third world country. As a matter of fact they couldn’t resist the urge to have their service fail me soon after they noticed the install was completed. It was nice to find the door operational in this crisis-access to the vehicle was made easy.
Be advised that the connection cable will not fit a series three model. There is no adapter so you will have to swap out the circuit board to the series two version if you identify the mismatch in the connector.

Easy to install
I had at first a little problem finding the right place to screw in. Didn't have a cross bar which would have been ideal. But installed the bracket in a secure place with no problem.

Emergency Backup!
