How to Get It

Product Overview

Maybe you're gonna take it hunting with you. Maybe you're just out living your life in a world where things need to be cut. Whatever you're up to, keep your Gator Fixed blade knife handy. Its famous for its patented Gator Grip handles, which has no peer when it comes to all-out grip. The inner core of the handle is glass-filled nylon. Then we chemically bonded it to the outer surface, which is molded Santoprene rubber creating a soft, tactile grip over a very strong structure. All these years later and no one’s topped it.

A great durable and sharp knife suitable as a tool for any use requiring great cutting ability. It is extremely well made and sharp. The knife has a good feel in the hand - not too heavy or light - just right! This is one of those tools that you can tell will last a long time. The sheath that it comes in is a little odd - not designed to strap onto your belt so it is not something you carry on your body. The blade is 4 inches in length so it is legal carry in Texas. Really cool knife! There ya go.

This is a really nice Gerber fixed blade with a hard case sheath. It came nicely packaged and also included some cool Gerber stickers. The blade seems very strong & durable and the handle is comfortable. The sheath is a kydex/hard plastic covered with nylon. It holds the blade well (however no audible click) and you don't really need the extra safety strap. The whole set up is light and great for several uses. Excited to see how this knife does over time. Highly recommend!

This review is for the Gerber Gator 4.02 in. Fixed Blade Fine Edge Drop Point Knife which I was given a chance to try out. The knife is made in the U.S.A., the nylon sheath (with plastic liner) is made in China, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. I no longer hunt, so this review will be from the perspective as a homeowner / DIY’er. I’ve stored the Gerber in my garage toolbox for general usage. A fixed blade knife is always something handy to have around. The handle on the Gerber is, in my opinion, outstanding. It feels cushioned in the hand while offering a substantial grip even when my hands are wet. The knife is a full tang design, which should give it great strength. It adds a lanyard hole in the handle end (lanyard isn’t included). The drop point blade (non-serrated) came sharp out of the box. It’s made of 420HC stainless steel. From what I have read (I’m no expert on knives or steel) 420HC has a “high carbon” content and is easy to sharpen and maintains a good edge. So far I haven’t found it necessary to run it through my Smith’s pocket knife sharpener, the Gerber has maintained its edge. The sheath is unique to my experience (as noted, I’m no expert) – the belt attachment loop isn’t sewn onto the sheath at one end, it has a snap closure. That allows you to slide the loop material around your belt and snap it in place without removing your belt. (See photos). The sheath is riveted. The dimensions – Total length: 8.86″, Blade: 4.02″, Weight: 6.6 oz. This seems to me to be quite a nice knife; not for an every day carry (at least in the suburbs!) but for general usage especially in the yard or garden – the grip works well in the wet. HTH Regards, Jim

It's a Gerber knife so the blade is awesome. It's razor sharp right out of the package (a package for which you'll wish you already had the knife out of to open - why do they make it so hard to get at the product?) The handle is good and grippy - even with wet gloves on and it comes with a sheath to protect you and the blade from handling mishaps. All-in-all a very nice knife.

The Gator 4 in. Fixed Blade Fine Edge Drop Point Knife ticks all the right boxes for an outdoors nature carry. It has an extremely sharp cutting edge that starts at the heel and runs all the way through to the tip, has a full tang construction that is molded with a very durable and grippy glass filled nylon rubber ergonomic grip and a durable ballistic nylon wrapped riveted sheath with a built-in hard plastic guard protector. In all, the thick 420HC SS spine construction gives this side carry knife rigidity and strength and believe it will make for a great camp game skinning tool.
