How do you anchor the mailbox post?

AnswersYou dig a hole with pole hole diggers and set your 4"x4" post according to the instructions with concrete and the height to the instructions. After the concrete is dried, you set your main post (black) over your 4"x4" post and attach the black plastic post to the 4"x4" post. Then attach the arm for the mailbox to the mailbox post. Simply. You can do it. Looks good. Gary Brand of Birmingham, AL.
What mailbox works best with this post? I have tried two different mailboxes but they didn’t fit.

I love the way this looks and works. My previous mailbox cedar post was leaning to one side and whittled down to half of its former self at the base due to the lawn service's weed eater. The old mailbox holder cross piece was separating from the post from rot. By removing the old cross piece and sliding this new cover over the old post it gave the old post a much wider footprint and supported it so well that it did not need to be replaced. I was even able to offset the new cover just a bit to where the old leaning post was underneath a now straight cover! I also purchased the decorative house number holder that mounts to the top of the mailbox. I have had mine for 2 years and it still looks so good that when my neighbors mailbox started to fall over, (it was held up with string and duct tape) I bought a second mailbox post cover and replaced theirs while they were at work. Great investment, weedeater resistant, and a time saver by not having to dig up the old post and install a new one.
