Product Overview

  • Made of galvanized steel to fight rust
  • 42 in. high to help support larger tomato plants
  • 3 supportive wire legs and wire rings
Give your tomatoes and other vining plants the support they need to grow with the Gilbert & Bennett 42 in. galvanized tomato cage. Plants that grow inside a cage utilize the sides of the cage to support the stems and need fewer ties. Just place one plant inside the cage and guide the stems through as they grow. This tomato cage is ample enough to help keep even the largest tomato plants contained and under control without blocking sunlight or rain, but be sure to keep plants growing tall and off the ground for better air circulation. The large openings make harvesting easy and its galvanized finish makes it reusable season after season. This cage can be used in a garden bed, raised garden, or for container gardening. These cages are easy to take out at the end of the season and are stackable within each other for easy storage.
  • 3 long stakes keep cage anchored securely
  • Legs: 7-Gauge wire, rings: 8-Gauge wire
  • 15.75 in. top ring diameter
  • Supports plants/vines up to 10 lbs. in weight
  • Stakes into your yard or garden with the press of a foot
  • Can be used for multiple projects as seen on pinterest
  • Galvanization helps fight against rust
  • California residents see Prop 65 WARNINGS

Would these hold up Peonies?

I have a border of peony plants in my new to me house, that flop down as soon as the first bloom comes out. I love the flowers, but it looks awful, as if a giant had stepped on them. I was looking for a solution, and saw these. Would it hold the peonies up? They are just coming out, so it would be easy to train them to be in the cage, I think.

if you click on the warning, it says, "This product can expose you to chemicals including chromium,.." glad the subject came up, because i thought the warning was for lead. the price is right, but is it really, when using them for food production? i plan on using them indoors, and will definitely wrap tape or strips of aluminum foil around the wire, watering the roots only, to be safe. i can only hope commercial farming has better health safety requirements, in our own country at least.

I have a vine type plant will this work?

I have a very beautiful pink jasmine growing in a pot, but it is growing so fast and every witch way I need something to hold the branches up so they won't break. Will this do the trick? If not what should i use or do to keep it looking beautiful.

My green bean plants loved it. Takes a little effort to clean the old vines off of it after harvesting the green beans.

How far from the top ring to the bottom ring?

I know it's 42" long or tall but how far from the top ring to bottom ring? That's what I consider the usable height since I sink it into the ground up to the bottom ring; these are much too small for the heirloom tomatoes I grow and use them for peppers instead. Thanks.

One ring broke off of a leg on one before I stuck it in the ground... I probably should take it back but I would burn more gas than the price of the cage. Others are OK so far.
