pretty much. Use the dial on the front to tighten to fit your toilet bowl.
My in-laws have this riser seat and it’s been a few years since my husband installed it and it has held up fine so far. Maybe the obvious is that the knob is broken/stripped? Or maybe the shape of toilet does not allow for the riser seat to tighten properly? Sorry I could not be more helpful.
Only if the Raised Toilet Seat obstructs the back of the Toilet. On our Elongated Toilet Bowl, the Raised Seat did not obstruct the back of the Bowl. Worked Perfectly. I have attempted to add a picture. In the Preview, it shows only my old Toilet Seat. Hopefully it shows more of the item when Posted.

you take the seat off the toilet and you install it on the bowl itself
to me it applease to be plastic but i'm unsure
I had the same problem at first but I pinched them slightly and they slid right in. If that doesn't work you might need to apply a small amount of oil on them to help them slide in easier.
