Q:To HD/Glacier Bay: What is the diameter of the suction cups and what is ctc or overall span so I can determine if it will work for me? Your ?Dimensions? page is pointless. One of your pics demonstrates that it won?t work on what looks like 4? tile?

Answer This Question
A:Â I would say likely not. It is held by 2 large suction cups that require moisture to seal properly. I have installed in the shower. There are others that can be screwed into a stud, but not this model.
Good luck!

A:Â Needs to have a very smooth surface like tile to form a good seal. If the closet has plaster walls I doubt it would work.Â

Hand Grab
This , product doesn’t hold a suction on a flat clean surface and is a dangerous hazard to everyone.!! This, product should be pulled from the market before or already someone gets hurt or killed in a fall.!!!

These pop off my tile shower. They install easily and seem secure and very tight but when I grabbed it I fell into the shower door, 2 times. Very dangerous and disappointing. Not for use to grab and expect it to hold your weight. I tried it at different angles and the suction cup loosens/pops out of the secure hold. I also cleaned the suction cups and tile with alcohol wipes as directed. I will be returning the unopened ones. They may help with light assistance to stable yourself but definitely not for grabbing to hold your body weight. Scary when you fall into your shower door. They look nice with my tile and bath, that's about it.

It might be unfare to compare this suction cup grab bar to permanently mounted grab bars, but I need to have complete confidence in a product used to assist the handicapped or elderly. The suction cups are finicky...sometimes they grab really well and at other times they grab just enough to fool you. I'm not confident that this bar will support full body weight. If used just for balance, it may work. But I was able to make it slide or let go completely. I don't trust it and would not recommend it. I tried it on three different surfaces...smooth porcelain tile, smooth tub surround, and mild textured porcelain tile. It would not stick at all to the mildly textured porcelain tile. It initially stuck to the smooth porcelain tile, but I could slide it around. It stuck the best to the smooth tub surround, but I could still feel some movement when tugging hard. This type of product cannot have any uncertainty to its performance...one's health depends on it. Install permanent grab bars instead...they're more dependable and safer.

I wanted a bar that I didn't have to drill holes into my wall. This works great and no drilling holes. It works by placing it onto the wall with suction. There are little slots that turn from red to green so you know it is attached to the wall. Easy to install and remove to different parts of the bath tub. Looks like it was always there. Great for helping get out of the tub and us very sturdy.

Better than the average ones.
Right off with the package, it's easy to open. not pull, tug, go find the scissors.
Next it the size, or rather the depth of the handle. Enough to get a good grip on it.
The other part is the little color window by each latch.
Makes it real easy to see if it's still attached to the wall or not.
Suction cup rails or handles are not a permanent mount and they can work loose over time because of moisture.
The color window will show green if its secure and red if it's not. Easy to see before you grab a hold of it.
