Do you have separate reservoirs for the hot and cold water? If so, What is the capacity for eah r...

Asked by Kaipo March 20, 2021

Answer

Yes, separate reservoirs/tanks. Capacities are: Hot 0.2 gal (= 0.8 quarts), Cold 0.8 gal (= 3.2 quarts). The cool temp of the water in the "cold" tank is automatically maintained by the units thermostat (which is adjustable). However, the water in the "hot" tank is held at room temp until the on-demand heating button is pressed. The water is fully heated in a minute of two. A red light on the dispenser indicates status while heating (blinking) and when hot (solid). The water remains hot in the tank for several minutes, and eventually cools back down to room temp. The red indicator lamp turns off automatically.

Can you hook up an external water line to this water dispenser to run directly to a coffee machine?

Answer

My understanding is that you cannot connect this particular dispenser in that way. But there are quite a few dispensers categorized as "bottleless" on home depot's web site.

No cold water and no blue light. Cold temp setting adjusted many times, unplugged overnight etc. and nothing worked

Based on my experience with this dispenser I'd say it's broken. You've pretty much performed all of the appropriate actions to fix and/or troubleshoot. I'm not sure if it has a fuse, but that would be the only other thing to check.

Answer

I'm not an expert on dispensers, but there could be a number of possible reasons as to why it's leaking. I'd suggest doing a web search using a string like " water dispenser leaking from bottom" to see what results come up. It may be that the dispenser is broken, or (hopefully) a simple fix like air bubbles in the feed lines.

Why why did my water dispenser quit cooling

No, there is no storage under the cooler.

Good morning my unit do not give me any cold water when plug in the compressor is not shutting down either.

Answer

If you find that the "cold" thermostat knob on the back of your dispenser is turned all the way down (lowest setting), then try turning it up to around "medium" and wait for half an hour before testing the water temperature. While you're waiting, the blue light should turn ON for a few minutes. The blue light indicates that the water is being cooled. It is normal for the blue light to turn ON and OFF several times every day. If the blue light is OFF (and never turns on to indicate a cooling cycle), then you should probably check the warranty to see if it's still in effect for return and replacement.

The description mentions taking 3 or 4 gallon jugs. What about 4 gallon jugs though? Will those also work?

Yes, will work with 3,4 and 5 galon. Buy with confidence.

Does the blue light always stay on, or is there a way to turn it off?

I am not aware of a way to turn it off. It seems that it shows there is enough water to run properly - it will shut off and the amber light will flash when it's low and needs a new bottle.

A real lifesaver. My well even with the filter system doesn’t filter out everything. So, the glacier Bay has been wonderful. I can have hot or cold water also. Saves time of heating it up in the tea pot. Great quality!

Collapsing bottle
The water bottles collapsing is either one of two things or both. 1.. cheap weak bottles 2. The breaking of the insert seal is misaligned and blocking the inlet hole for the water and causing it to have a vacuum. Just take and turn/spin the bottle until the hole isn't blocked. Other than this I would say this is a great water cooler. The hot water only makes an 8oz cup at at time and the cold water is about a gallon or less.

It works properly
All of a sudden the water jugs are collapsing inward or sucking inward. What would cause this? The water dispenses properly and the hot and cold work perfectly. Any idea why this is happening. We really like the dispenser. This started back in June.

Easy to use. Only hard thing about this product is the top load. Besides that great product.

Glad I purchased insurance
My dispenser was purchased 10/31/18. It still works well. The cold water works perfectly but the hot water takes so long I find myself boiling it on top of the stove. My issue is the foundation cracked under the weight of the water bottle. I had to place something underneaththe base to keep it from leaning forward and possibly falling over. Thankfully I purchased the Home Depot Protection Plan. I uploaded my receipt today, filed a claim and immediately received an egift card for a replacement unit! It was literally took less than 20 minutes from beginning to end. I'm a happy customer.
