Questions & Answers

Will the cabinet hold up in an outdoor use?

Asked by: JMC7310
No. It'll likely dissolve in the rain: The carcass of the cabinet is made out of very cheap particle-board.

Sorry for the delay, the message got shunted into my spam folder. You must provide your own water and drain hook up.

How does cabinet get anchored

How does cabinet get anchored
Asked by: Carolyn
There aren't any "anchors" or areas designated to nail or screw it to the floor. The plumbing that houses it is really the only stationary piece inside of the cabinet. We put a small "kick-plate" directly in front of the base of the cabinet and screwed it into the floor to keep it from moving out-of-place. Our sink doesn't get that much use, so it stays pretty much in place. It would be a good idea to do the same on the sides if your sink will be getting used regularly. Other than that, it is a nice sink and roomy cabinet.

Unless they sold me a stainless steel sink from a bad batch, this has to be the worst sink ever! Within 2 months, the stainless steel sink started to show rust spots in the bottom, along the sides, and on the flat area in the left rear corner. It has progressed rapidly and the Home Depot hasn't done anything about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice This is a very nice unit, much better than the cheap plastic washtub with metal legs that came with my house. The stainless sink has a heavy coating of dampening material on the back side. The cabinet is not solid wood, being an MDF-like material, and the doors and kick-plate are a glossy finish. The price is good considering the inclusion of a faucet, sink and cabinet. Assembly was relatively easy, except during my installation I had to cut a good size hole in the bottom of the cabinet since my valves come up through the floor. I'll make a removable cover for the hole so I can get access to the valves if needed. One reviewer rated this one star, but he wasn't even reviewing the same product - he mentioned a plastic sink and this one has a nice stainless sink. Go figure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this sink..... I have been using this sink for about three weeks and I love it. Very well made for the money and a very tall flexible neck faucet that allows ease of filling buckets and large pans. I did read the reviews before I purchased it and saw where some people have had trouble with the faucet leaking but no problems with this one. Nice large sink, although someone brought out the fact that it says it has a 21 gallon capacity sink in the online specs when it actually has a 12 gallon capacity and it does not have soft close doors like the online ad says. I didn't particularly care about either so wasn't disappointed but might be a problem for some. All in all, I would buy another just like this. Great find.

Bought laundry sink unit from Home Depot, got it home, opened top of box, extracted sink & attached faucet, etc. Removed unit only to find 3 of its 4 sides were damaged due to dowels punching holes through the side panels at the top, and the left-hand door hinges had been mounted at an angle to the left panel, breaking through the cheap particle-board paneling. Returned it and picked up replacement (last in the store). Examined it in the parking lot - still had some cracks where the dowels join the side and front panels, but were small and decided to suck it up and take it home as I could tape-over the cracks from inside the unit. When plumbing-in the sink, found that I needed to buy a tailpipe as none was supplied - this would've been useful to know - the box should list additional parts required for fitting/plumbing. Also found that the faucet only dribbled water, even though we have somewhat high water pressure. I dismantled the nozzle to find that the nozzle's mesh screens were completely blocked by small plastic fragments & debris. Cleared the debris, but water still flowed slowly. Dismantled the rest of the nozzle assembly and flushed out even more plastic debris. Once re-assembled, water now flowed as expected. All in all, disappointed with this unit. While it now looks & operates okay, it's clearly made out of the cheapest materials available, with practically zero quality control. And I REALLY should not have to dismantle a faucet to flush-out plastic debris from the manufacturing process. Less "handy" customers may not know how to do this and will be left with an entirely unusable faucet. C'mon Home Depot - I am pretty sure you can demand at least SOME QA from your suppliers.

Completely satisfied with quality, ease of installation and modern look of this product. Purchased as part of a laundry room makeover, the sink unit arrived in great shape, assembly instructions were clear and hardware went together without an issue. Absolutely no leaks on first install for drain and water lines. I added a back splash of chrome self stick tiles to complete the install.

Great Value for a Good Product... with One Small Problem Attractive, very functional and long-lasting stainless steel laundry sink and melamine-finished storage cabinet comes complete with high-end flex-neck and dual spray faucet and drain for a very good price and value! Just bought it and installed it. Also, the faucet can adapt to a garden hose, which can be handy, and the faucet position in the back right allows for maximum clearance for whatever is being washed. Storage area below is sufficient for hiding laundry detergent and other miscellaneous items. It was definitely a nice upgrade to the old and stained plastic laundry sink I was replacing. Only problem is that the threads on the drain were defective, so I needed to swap out the drain for another one. Then the drain leaked and required plumber's putty to seal the leak, so the inspectors on the assembly line were a bit asleep at the wheel and I got the lemon — twice! That's why I gave the product four stars instead of five. This is all you need in a Laundry sink with cabinet, so why pay more? Once the drain problems were resolved, it's been operating well. I'd recommend it, but check out the drain immediately to make sure the threads are smooth and be sure to test the drain for leaks before expecting it to function without any drips!

This laundry sink with faucet and storage cabinet appeared to be the ideal product to upgrade our old laundry room sink. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be a good choice for our installation. I knew some assembly and some disassembly of the existing unit would be required. I have completed numerous plumbing and faucet installations over the years and I felt well-qualified in taking on this project. In short, I had to remove a wall-mounted ironing board w/cabinet, sheetrock and baseboard on 3 sides of the cabinet, and cut off the ABS drain piping right at the wall in order to allow the new unit to fit in this "custom" opening. I later had to to custom-cut and fill in the missing sheetrock in all affected areas. Since my existing water lines were already floor mounted rather than wall mounted, I also had to cut-in new openings in the cabinet to allow for the water lines. In addition, the facing on the cabinet itself consisted of a clear plastic, which was to remain in place as a protection. Each label that was placed on the outside of the cabinet pulled up this shrink-wrap like material, and eventually it was delaminating anywhere it was touched. Home Depot did not supply the water lines for the unit, so between that and other missing issues, I made several trips to the local Home Depot to get everything I needed to complete the installation. In the end, it was somewhat easier to hook-up the waterlines to the faucet lines, but as I was making the final connections to these lines, I became aware that the faucet had already brought along some defects to complicate matters. Both copper water lines from the faucet were "kinked" in several places...both lines were so bad that it looked questionable as to whether water could actually pass through these lines. I straightened these lines as much as possible, which was not much, and I continued on to finish the installation. My first attempt at re-opening the water line valves was a disaster...water was running "down" the walls from the faucet, as it was also spraying out and dripping from several spots along the water lines. It seemed as though someone had not put the faucet together completely/properly. I was so disgusted with this situation that I removed the faucet and took it back to Home Depot. After showing them the kinks in the water lines, the customer service lady on duty was very pleasant and understanding, so she allowed me to exchange out the defective faucet for another one. The next day I did the do-over with the new faucet, which appeared to be in perfect shape. I was very intense with assembling this second faucet and it went together without much difficulty. When I tested it later that day, it was an exact repeat of the floods that resulted from the first faucet. I had only opened the hot water valve about 1/4 turn, when the waterworks kicked in. No water from the valves or below, it was all coming from the faucet and the water lines at the faucet. I shut the valve and called it quits. I have never been so badly mistreated by a new plumbing project. I am at a loss right now about starting over again, especially not with this particular Glacier Bay product.

BUT, the craftsmanship and quality does not meet my expectation. Two front doors quality are very poor and do not match each other. Stainless steel sink surface is very easy to get water stain all the time, compare with other brand of stainless steel sink. I found the problem after I complete the installation. Otherwise I will bring it back . I will recommend this product only if you want an "one box solution".

I would be happy with the unit if it were not for the water supply connections. They are a smaller diameter opening, meaning it is necessary to use an adapter to fit standard garden hose style connections by the washing machine. Also, the water supply lines are too short, making it near impossible to reach them with a wrench to tighten. So I had to remove the faucet after installing to try to install the hose adapter so I could get it tight enough. But try as I might, I was never able to get a watertight seal using teflon tape between the adapter and the water inlet threads. Why wouldn't they use standard garden hose style connections? So now I have a $200 cabinet and sink with an inoperable faucet. Now I need to either buy a new faucet or pay a plumber some unknown sum to fix it. At this point, I wish I'd kept my old style laundry tub. At least it had a faucet that connected to the water supply easily and never leaked.

I bought one almost a year ago and have not seen any since. Out of stock at all HD's and at Glacier Bay. After writing my initial review I got questions asking when these will be available in stores again. I had no way of knowing but I walked into my local HD today in Yorkville, Il and there were two of them in the box right at the front entrance. I mentioned to customer service that so many people were asking about these and how could we get it out that there are some in the store again. Just want to say call your local HD and see if they have had any come in. You won't be sorry. It is just a great sink and cabinet! Good luck.

Everything was in the box and no damaged parts. But it does not include water supply lines or drain pipes. You will need to buy those separately. Also get some plumbers putty for strainer basket install. Attach faucet and water supply lines to sink before you put it in cabinet. Fairly easy install and hookup. I replaced an old plastic style utility sink. If you are buying this at the store check box for damage and if it has been opened, been burned by that before.

Had to install 3" bolt to raise sink to a normal height & be able to clean under it and retrieve any dropped items. Will be adding a back splash with holding area for soap & brushes. Would be nice to have a bit more edge on the sink top but works great. Love the faucet. Happy with the basic design & quality. Was installed by a plumber since we have it in garage & needed new water lines and drain. Great next to our unitized washer/dryer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Utility Sink Installation Easy to install and met all expectations. Fits perfectly in newly developed rec room space. Of special note is the quality and finish of the cabinet which had to be altered to accommodate an unusual plumbing setup. This was easily accomplished due to the strength of the cabinet construction.
