The "Fastmount" piece is horrible. It doesn't not pull the faucet tight enough from the bottom of the sink so the faucet mount is 'loose' and faucet 'wiggles'. Have tried screwing the 'fastmount' tighter but the "fastmount" strips and loosens. What is the tread diameter of the shank so I can buy a traditional metal 'nut' to mount the shank to the bottom of the sink so that it doesn't wiggle? Thanks
Asked by: BMan
I agree. Good question. I would also like to know the diameter of the shank.

The single handle is very difficult to turn from hot to cold and back again. Also, the handle is difficult to turn on and off. Is this everyone experience? Will it become easier over time? It has been two weeks now.

I've had this exact faucet since 3/28/17 and it has worked nicely with handle moving side-to-side easily up until just over a year later (6/2018), and now the handle has become VERY difficult to move left, right, up, down in a quick span of about a week or so - it happened all of a sudden. It's possible crud has accumulated under the ball of the handle, but IMO if this was designed properly, there should've been some type of seal to keep this from happening. The exploded parts diagram in the manual is not very helpful in determining what exactly might be wrong, but since this faucet has a Lifetime Warranty, I am going to remove the faucet and return it to Home Depot for a free replacment as specified in their warranty. So dig out your original receipt which you will need and which you should ALWAYS keep for products like this (thankfully I found mine in my receipts "pile"), and head to your nearest Home Depot.

In the installation guide Silicone Sealant is listed in the required "Tools and Hardware Required" section. However, I do not see it being used in the Installation section. I must have missed it. Why is it listed and what is it used for? Thank you
Asked by: Warren
Silicone sealant not required if your sink surface over mounting area is smooth and straight. If its an old stainless sink, make certain there is adequate stability to keep faucet from "wiggling" about when using the pull-out feature. Its almost never the sink that fails time, but the counter material surrounding the sink cutout -- especially if its "particle wood with an inexpensive laminate." Water takes its toll over time no matter the material. Yup, nature wins out every time.

My son tightened the connector under the faucet that secures the faucet to the sink. It is very important that the faucet handle and the faucet spout be held tightly to the left while tightening the connector under the sink. Otherwise the internals will rotate and the faucet handle and the faucet spout will be misaligned. That means the faucet handle and the faucet spout will be too far to the right and the hot/cold water locations will be misaligned and the spout will rotate out of the sink on the left side. I hope this helped.

Purchased this in July '17, installed easy and worked well....until yesterday. Started leaking from under the sink and found that if the faucet was turned off normally and not pressed down hard then I could still hear water flowing, and sure enough it was leaking. And after another day, now it just leaks all the time. I shut the water off and am attempting to reach the manufacturer to find out what to do, but surely this shouldn't happen 6 months..

During January 2019, I started having trouble with the cartridge where it was hard to actuate with the handle. I then came into the kitchen one morning to find that the cartridge leaked out of the bottom of the faucet. There was water inside the cabinet and it went to the floor below where it caused drywall damage. Luckily, I was able to dry things out pretty well, although this cost me a day off from work to clean up & install a new faucet. I bought this faucet for the design & lower price, but unfortunately, I got what I paid for. I would not advise buying Glacier Bay, the long term quality is not good!

I got this to replace a 1-hole faucet that had an odd double screw and clamp bracket connector instead of the usual threaded-nipple and nut set-up that is standard. The sink was a bottom mount, twin basin model, and the sink bracing bracket was in the way. Also, the basins are asymmetrical, leaving less working room than normal (which isn't that much to start with). I was worried that the under cabinet spacing problem was the reason for the bizarre install hardware on the previous sink, so I went into the repair ready to dial a pro plumber. But, I didn't have to. The "fastmount" device that replaces the normal nut made the install much easier; I was able to angle the "fastmount" past the bracing bracket and then tighten it down once it was straight with no special tools or wrenches! What was sizing up to be a beast of a repair ended up being one of the easiest faucet swaps I've done. Cheers to the product designers and engineers who got this one right from the install perspective!

One Big Problem is the Fastmount system it Doesn't tighten up enough and if you tighten too much it just loosens back up. The threads are plastic and it doesn't hold. I had mine in for a week and the faucet became loose and I found the Fast mount screw device hanging down on the water lines. An old style nut and washer would be nice as an option in the box. I may go to HD and find a nut to replace the Fast Mount system. I am experienced with Faucet installations so it wasn't user error just a poor design that would be nice if perfected. If the Fastmount system is fixed I would change this item to Recommend right now I can't.

We especially like the click that the spray/stream button makes. It goes back to stream when the faucet is turned off. There's a weight to hang off the hose to help it retract, but that gets hung up on the water lines for the faucet, so after removing the weight the faucet is perfect! Goes in and out easily, stays seated in the fixture and never gets wonky.Great faucet! Great price point!

Leak was from inside the body of the faucet and could not be accessed. Never had this kind of problem with a faucet. Replaced it with a Kohler. Once I did the water pressure was much better. Do not buy. If it leaks its going to cost you more for your time and water damage to your cabinet.
