Hi Ben, thank you for asking about the Glacier Bay Rustproof Aluminum Adjustable Tension Double Curved Shower Rod! Unfortunately, this shower rod is only adjustable from lengths of 50 inches to 72 inches. You may need an over-sized shower rod to fit in your shower area. Try searching for 86-inch shower rods on the Home Depot website. Thanks!

Shower curtains are hung from Shower Curtain hooks that slip over rod. You then hang shower curtain to the hooks. Shower curtains are not like window curtains.

Is there a way to mount the rod permanently to the wall?

About 6” of additional space on the inside of the shower and takes up 9” on the outside rod. I hang a liner on the inside rod which hangs inside the shower and a decorative outer layer on the outside rod that hangs outside the shower. No contact between the layers assures no leak through.

This will fix your loose cap. Go to the plumbing dept. , buy a small roll of 1/4 inch clear vinyl tubing then cut 4 pieces into 8 3/4 inch lengths. Lay them flat on a table and with a Sharpe marker draw a line on the inside of each one , they have a natural curve . Cut along line on the inside wall with a small pair of scissors or carefully with a utility knife. Starting at the dimple run the tubing around the sharp edge . Do the same on the other side. Do this on both end caps. Snap on the end cap, the tubing will fill that gap.

The end caps in no way are flush. This takes two people to install. Very disappointed in this 60.00 item. You need to know for sure where you want it with both shower curtain lengths, because it’s not worth fighting to adjust the height. I expect this to fall as soon as my toddler touches it.

not great
I was looking forward to having this in our newly remodeled bathroom. Being able to open the curtain and leave the liner closed was a nice touch! However, after much frustration, I have found it’s just not worth the trouble. I know I installed it correctly, I even reinstalled it thinking I did it wrong the first time. The front bar continually sloped down. I would walk in and it would need adjusting every time. Then, it would just fall! I’ve given it a week and I give up. Will be returning sadly.

I just purchased and installed this rod for a customer yesterday.. First, the positives: It looks nice once mounted and you don't have to drill into the tile to mount..The negatives: It can be a bit difficult to mount by yourself if you don't have long arms (like I do) and the end caps Do Not fit snugly on the black plastic brackets(I had to use clear silicone to keep them on ), would have preferred the type that use a set screw to keep the end caps on..for those reasons, I would not purchase or recommend this rod in the future.

Very easy to assemble and to instal. It was a good DIY project for my 11 year old kid. The quality is good but I recommend getting new curtain hangers. Dont get the hooks. Get the ones that have rollers on them. It will work very nicely with these curtain rods.

The shower rod was easy to assemble and install. It does not require any holes in the wall and can be easily removed and repositioned. The double rods can be used for two shower curtains or a towel rack.

Just purchased and installed the Glacier Bay Brushed Nickel, Rustproof, Al. Adj. Tension Double Curved Shower Rod. Easy to assemble and install and looks great. I found it easy to assemble on floor or table prior to getting another person to help install. This is not a one person install, you need another to hold the "dummy" end. I read many negative reviews about this product's loose, rattling covers. Before installing the end caps I made sure they were going to be a snug fit by slightly pinching the middle section. Another remedy is to place a rubberband over the two rods, each end, prior to assembly, and snug fit up against the cover. Or, cut a rubberband, wrap around the two rods, tie it, and snug it against the cover. Not attractive but should help keep from rattling. I gave this product a "Good" quality rating with only an "Average" value rating because it cost nearly $60 + tax for aluminum, plastic and rubber pieces. Home Depot where I shop doesn't have any competitor to Glacier Bay, Double Curved Shower Rod. Otherwise, paying $45 would be a "Good" value.
