AnswersThe Glacier Bay soft round toilet seat can hold at least 215 lbs.. That is the max weight of the heaviest person in my household. It holds that weight comfortably with no problems. That is with and without the lid down.

I bought this a little over year ago to replace previous HD-bought padded toilet seat. (They last 1-2 years before the vinyl rips on the seat).
Immediately on installation I discovered that the padded top was thicker than the previous unit, and the combined seat and top would not stay up when a man needs to do his business.
Called HD and they credited me for the unit (guess they weren't interested in even a 1-day used toilet seat...)
Have used a coat hanger wire to hold it open ever since (see pics).
And the vinyl has cracked in 13 months.

Do not Purchase this poor quality product
While the padding is nice and it mounts very easily, there is one major defect to this product.
The latching mechanism from the seat to the plastic mounting bolts is of poor quality and it often comes loose when an adult sits on it. Probably not a problem for a child, but not for a heaver adult.
I recommend a product that has plastic mounting bolts that completely go through the hinge holes in the back to the toilet seat.

My wife adores this seat. It's not cold and it doesn't cut off the circulation in her legs. I like it because it's not made of cardboard or flimsy plastic inside. This sucker is plywood inside, you can tell by the weight. I hate the cheaper made ones since you know, at some point, someone is going to stand on it. I like knowing it won't break when they do. I would buy this again. Too bad it only came in white.

Typical "Made in China" product.
Originally it carried a lifetime warranty. Then the warranty changed to three (3) years. And presently carries a minimal One (1) year warranty..
It's obvious the warranty time was shortened because Home Depot was taking a beating on returns of this inferior product.
