Yes. I installed two in our kitchen sink. You will need to use plumber’s putty to seal the new drain connection to the sink bottom. This “post” style strainer works differently than the other style basket, but I think they last longer.

The plastic post on the strainer stripped and falls closed when the water runs. Which replacement...

Fit perfectly. I used it to complete an upgrade. Included all gaskets needed to complete the job. I installed a push button sink strainer. The strainer I originally had was not long enough for the Kohler sink.

After not following the directions for installation of the strainer and then following them, it did not leak and seems to work well. We have never used a post sink strainer before, so it is too early to comment on how well it works in the long run. We have had many failures with the other style of strainer, so we are hoping this one lasts longer.

The stainless steel sink strainer is a great value for the price. The finish matches with many other stainless steel fixtures. The finish is also resistant to hard and iron rich water deposits. The threads have a wide range to allow for thin sink materials like a stainless steel sink, or a thick material like a ceramic, or in my case, a cultured granite which was about 3/8" thick. My sink required 2 strainers, and one of the strainers had body threads that were cross threaded with the locking nut, which I had to exchange. Luckily, the return process at Home Depot was hassle free. I used plumbers putty for my installation, otherwise everything else is included for install. I used standard 1.5" poly drain pipe to adapt to my trap. The strainer locks in when needed and holds water fine. It does not have a tendency to slip into the locked position and stop the water when unwanted, which my old strainer did all the time. This is a great product for the price point. You may have to look around for these in the store, one store I went to had them in the new faucet section, while another store had these in the plumbing repair aisle.
