Can these Hooks support Tires on Wheels?

Answersthey can support the weight but depending on the type of wheel, it may or may not stay hooked. Automotive wheels may not have a lip to keep the tire on the hook.
Do the prongs on the wide hook extend farther from the wall than 9.5 inches?

AnswersProngs extend about 6.25" from the track, which adds about an inch, so the total projection from the wall is about 7.25". I hope I have the same hook as the one in your question...it looks the same.

Get hooked up with this wide hook from GearTrack. I've already ranted and raved about their GearTrack channels that I have bought and installed in my garage, but you will need accessories to use this the channel to it's full capacity. This wide hook is built tough and feels extremely sturdy. It can take plenty of weight and those hook arms will not bend easily and for good reason. The hook arms are coated in a thick high friction textured rubber that prevents tools or cables from sliding off of it. It looks nice too with a simplistic but functional design. No crazy designs here, just simplicity that works. The hook is easy to install in the GearTrack channel. Just insert it in the grooves and pull down to lock it in place. Right now I just have a water hose on it, but it can easily accept tools like rakes and shovels.

Strong and Versatile Hook
The Wide hook is a strong and versatile accompaniment to the Gladiator system. I have shown it here in a couple of different uses, and I am sure there are many more.
This is one of more than 20 styles of hooks and hangars for this system and you can also see the loop hook in these photos.
I am well pleased with the system, (see my separate review of the loop hooks and track) and intend to install more in my garage.
Easy to install and a great value.

Good looking Geartrack
This Gear track from Gladiator looks fine in a garage and is made of a rigid extruded plastic composite. The gear-wall wide hook definitely can handle some large heavy items as I use it for a 16 pound sledge.
Hooks for this Gear-track do not have a locking feature which is fine for ease of re-positioning the hook on the rail, but it can become frustrating when removing tools and having the hook move around.

Versatile Storage Solution
There are an enormous number of storage solutions available these days and this GearTrack solution is very versatile (the video demonstrates that versatility). The four foot channels can be put up anywhere where there is a sufficiently strong weight bearing wall. The track will hold up to 100 lbs per linear foot when it is evenly distributed and the hooks themselves are rated to varying degrees.
I am using my GearTrack to store garden tools and the ability to easily move the hooks to accommodate different sized tools is useful. The GearWall wide hook gets narrower to the back making it very adaptable and able to hold many different objects and it will hold 30 lbs.
The GearTrack has a ten year warranty and the GearWall wide hook has a lifetime warranty. For a flexible storage solution this product works well.
