Questions & Answers

What is the minimum number of minutes you can set time to pressure cook? I have other brand's unit and the minimum timer is for 15 minutes, which is too long for many item I cook. Thanks for your time.

What is the min/max number of minutes you can set this unit to pressure cook? Is the range available under both low and high pressure settings?

You can set it up to two hours. Yes, I believe it is available under both.

What does "ceramic lined" mean??? What is the ceramic lining made of?

Fired clay is of course the basic material. But there are many possible formulations. They (ceramics) are not known by their exact constituents, so much as for the characteristics of the material. Ceramics are non-reactive and highly stable and very heat resistant. For example there are the flat electric stovetops that are made of ceramic.

(What's this)
For awhile I've been hearing rave reviews about a certain brand of electric pressure cookers. When I had a chance to get this electric pressure cooker I was excited to see if it would live up to the hype of the one I'd heard about...and it does! First of all, this is very much like the much-hyped electric pressure cooker in that in addition to manual settings for pressure and time, there are also several pre-sets for things like poultry, meat, rice, etc. I have tried both the manual settings and the presets and had success with both. There are so many recipes to be found on blogs/Pinterest/cookbooks devoted to electric pressure cookers and I am excited to work my way through them. So far I've cooked chicken which cooked through quickly and shredded perfectly, rice which came out PERFECT, dry beans which were pretty good but I still need to work on, chili, soup, a delicious beef dish and a few others. I used the pressure cooker setting for most of those, but I've also used the slow cooker mode. I am thrilled that it has the slow cooker capability because it is much larger than the slow cooker I already owned and it eliminates the need for both. I was also really impressed with the saute function. It was able to truly brown the meat I was cooking. This is awesome because it eliminates the need for a stovetop pot when you're doing something like a pot roast or veggies for soup. I also used the delay start for cooking rice and it worked like a charm. This particular model is quite large! At first I was nervous it is too big, but now I'm glad for the large size because it can accommodate a large cut of meat but also does fine with cooking small quantities. I'm still figuring out the ins and outs of the pressure cooker, but I'm realizing that as long as I add the minimum quantity of water, I can't really mess it up. I can always cook it for longer if I need to, but so far that hasn't been an issue. I'm so thrilled with the time it saves on some dishes (dry beans, meat, etc) and with the superior results on some dishes as compared with the stovetop (rice). Cleanup is easy. It really is non stick!

Why go small? You can pressure cook a cup or 14 quarts in this thing. I used it for ribs and l only had to cut them in half. I suggest thay you use the recipe booklet that comes wih it, it will steer you straight. I like the trying new things out. This is the best part. Worth the money.

(What's this)
Using the GoWise XL Pressure cooker was the first time I've ever used a pressure cooker, and I had excellent results. It is big- it has a 14 quart capacity. I cooked an average sized 6 lb. pork butt for pulled pork sandwiches to experiment on since it was cheap and on sale, but I could have easily cooked two, possibly 3 pork butts- enough to feed a crowd for a party. It has a saute feature, which allows you to sear and brown the meat in the pot, using a small amount of oil, and retaining all of the flavor from the drippings in the pot. I cut the pork in half, seasoned it, and seared all surfaces of the meat. The high setting browned and carmelized the meat nicely. I added the 1/2 C. of water needed to deglaze the pot, and also recommended in the instructions for cooking. The interface has preset cooking times, and recommended 45 minutes for a roast, but it actually took twice the amount of time to cook it to where it was done. After two 45 minute cycles of cooking though, the pork butt came out as if it was slow roasted all day in an oven or slow cooker, and the meat was tender, extra juicy, and pulled apart easily. The cooking times are fully adjustable, so the next time I will probably just set it to cook for 2 hours to 2 hours and 10 minutes to get it perfect. The pot comes out for easy cleaning. I would recommend taking the lid apart and cleaning the lid and gaskets thoroughly with vinegar and soapy water and storing the pressure cooker with the lid upside down to eliminate any residual cooking odors. The pressure cooker came with a cookbook and instruction manual, and I since I've never used a pressure cooker before, I turned to the internet and found a lot of information on cooking methods and recipes, which I will use especially for hearty winter meals and family get together's. 5 stars for capacity, easy to use, and excellent cooking results.

Ceramic liner doesn't stick! Fantastic capacity puts the many other pressure cookers on the market to shame. My old Power Pressure XL, was small and food would stick so bad to bottom of liner that you would have to use oven cleaner to get burned food off bottom. The power pressure cooker xl liner is suppose to be made of a non-stick liner, but after time, it wears out and creates a major clean up headache often times when you use it. For the price, the size and the quality, hands down, the GoWise 14qt. Electric Pressure Cooker XXL is the champ!

This is a very large pressure cooker, a lot bigger than expected. You could probably cook a small turkey or ham in it, I know you could do a chicken for sure. You can steam, sauté and roast in this pressure cooker. It has twelve preset buttons to cook anything from rice, soups, eggs, chilies and etc. This is great for cooking for family gatherings.

(What's this)
This is a high quality pressure cooker that in a lot of cases will replace your slow cooker and make life a little easier. It can slow cook, pressure cook and steam. It is stainless out side and has a ceramic coated pot on the inside with a steamer plate for the bottom. It can steam rice, cook a pot roast and anything else you can think of.The directions fall way short of what all the buttons do and I had to go online to learn how to use it properly. It comes with recipes but again they are not very clear on times and pressures to use.Once you learn some recipes this cooker shines.Hard boiled eggs in 5 minutes,A pot roast in less than an hour. There are tons of recipes out there for any taste and this pressure cooker is fantastic.I just wish the instructions were better written.

This pressure cooker is big enough to put a meal on the table for a family of 10 rather quickly. I’ll give you a tip though. While you’re prepping your dish start a pot of boiling water. When your ready to add your dish to the pressure cooker add the boiling water first. Cuts down on warm up time!

This thing is great... probably a little too big. The pictures did not do it justice. It cooks food really well and is big enough to cook for a family of 5 with leftovers to spare. Cleanup is a little awkward because of the size of the unit. The lid is safe with options. The control panel is easy to use and it has a trick feature on front which tells you the pressure currently in the unit so you know what is going on at all times. The easy cook buttons are preconfigured for a variety of meals for no confusion cooking. It requires lots of counter space because it is a HUGE unit.
