(What's this)
This GoWISE 8 quart pressure cooker is easy to use and versatile. After the first use we knew that this is a high quality cooker. It comes with a removable stainless steel inner pot that should last a lifetime. It includes measuring cup, a rice scoop as well as a handy rack and basket. It has 16 built-in smart programs and 12 cooking options with preset times. You can also set the cooking time manually. We have used it as a pressure cooker, as a steamer and as an excellent slow cooker. We use it daily and leave it out on the counter. We cooked a large pot of dry Great Northern white beans in just 30 minutes (see video). They came out perfectly well done. It makes perfect rice. The pot is large enough to cook for our extended family. It is easy to clean and attractive. It replaced our old crock pot, rice cooker and steamer. We recommend it.

(What's this)
These days I need to pressure cook legumes before I can digest them properly, so I was looking for something that would also steam rice and other grains. When I ordered this I don't know what I was expecting, but this appliance is so much more. It does a great job of cooking under pressure, of course, and is very easy to use (add the ingredients and a little water, put the cover on and hit one button. Now you're cooking!) It also has steaming features for grains and vegetables, but that's not all. It can saute, slow cook, make yogurt, and make a soup. It is a great help with canning, as well. I love that it will cook all day, start cooking at a set time, and that after it ends the cooking cycle it will keep the food warm. plus, compared to a crock pot, it is super easy to clean because the stainless steel inner pot is so much lighter than a crock, and heats faster, too. So, I got rid of the crock pot to make room for this more versatile tool.

(What's this)
My husband does that majority of the cooking in our household and has always wanted a pressure cooker so I picked this one! It is really a nice addition to our kitchen and is a major time saver! It is a way to speed up the cooking time on many foods especially rice! Rice typically takes about 30-40 minutes to cook from start to finish however this pressure cooker reduces the time to about 10-15 minutes and the rice comes out just as good as cooking it on the stove top! There are multiple cooking options such as steaming, sauteing, slow cooking, and pressure cooking. The steam option is very handy just throw in two cups of water in the insert, put the tray in, then put the steam basket on top of the tray, seal the lid and set it to steam. Just be sure you switch vent on the top of lid to "steam" and reduce cooking time to avoid overcooking non-starchy veggies. Play around with the cooking times until you find out what works best and this pressure cooker will be an asset to your kitchen! In addition it's easy to clean the insert comes right out and cleans with ease. Also it takes up just as much storage in your cabinet as a large pot would.

(What's this)
This would be a 6 star review if I could rate it that way. My wife went on an 8 in 1 cooking bindge when we unpacked this OMG machine. Firs we had Mexican, then chicken and dumplings then meatloaf and mashed potatoes and then Chinese vegetable fried rice. Seriosly it is reallt cool. She used some pressure cooker recipes mixed with saute and or slow cook. The meatloaf was the moistest that I have ever had and the mash was perfect. Fried rice was better than our local eatery. Buy it, read the instructions and get started. I forgot about the Korean beef it was my maforite flavor and the rice cooked in the same amount of time. Avearge cooking after pressure is right is 10 to 15 minutes. Except the brisket, forgot abut that until now. It was about an hour. Woo hoo you will love it. Cleans very easy with regular dish soap. We shop at Aldi most of the time for simple ingredients and this cooker makes them into 5 star meals.

(What's this)
I've never owned a pressure cooker before and I was intrigued by one of the health blogs I follow. She uses her pressure cooker for everything and shared lots of recipes so I decided it was time for me to join the club. I was really intimidated by this pressure cooker at first. I've always heard stories about people blowing themselves up but the instructions are clear and teach you how to avoid doing that. It's much bigger than I expected and takes up a ton of counter space. That's kind of a negative for me because it means it's not easy to store. It doesn't fit in my cupboard and I don't have a good place to store it. It's bigger and bulkier than my slow cooker. As far as functionality goes, this thing works great! The first thing I made was rice. How hard could it be? I added the rice and the water and pushed the rice button. I was a little confused because the instruction booklet doesn't give any information about the rice setting. How much water should I use? How much time? So I used a ratio of 2-water to 1-rice and set the timer for 8 minutes. The pressure started to build and the timer started to tick down. After 8 minutes, I released the pressure valve (which is a little scary) and waited about a minute for the pressure to fully go down to zero. The rice turned out exactly like it does from 25 minutes in a rice cooker. The second thing I made was a beef stew that involved searing the meat. I used the saute setting on the meat first and then added the liquid and other ingredients. I only had to cook it for 20 minutes as opposed to 6 hours in a slow cooker. It turned out tender and delicious. This unit has replaced at least 3 of my other kitchen appliances and has become my new go-to method of cooking. I've already ordered two cookbooks so I can continue to use it more and more. I only wish the instruction booklet was a bit more helpful for a first-timer.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
I cooked a small very lean beef sirloin tip roast to try out this electric pressure cooker. I thought I had read the directions thoroughly. First, to brown the roast press saute. The pot got hot but didn't stay hot. The indicator read medium. I wanted to adjust it to hot...I couldn't figure out how. So second, I added a cup of water and put the lid on. Easy to do. Third, I hit the meat preset the time 35 min came up. The timer does not start until the correct temp and pressure is reached. It's surprisingly quiet. After the 35 minutes, the pot goes off and the pressure starts to go down on it's own. It took almost 30 minutes for the pressure to go down by itself. I'm not brave enough to help it release pressure...yet. I was expecting a dry roast like this cut usually is unless cooked rare. I was shocked. The meat was well done but moist and tender!!! That made a believer out of me. It will take some time to build my confidence in using this pressure cooker...I'm used to the old-time ones that can blow a hole in the ceiling if not handled correctly. I'm pretty sure this will be one of my favorite go-to appliances.

(What's this)
A very nice unit with a striking appeal on the countertop when in use and when not being used. The features are for too numerous to list from rice to roasts and seemingly every other letter of the alphabet. The energy consumed was less than a conventional crock pot used side by side with the same 3 lb roast and vegetables in each one. There will be variances with any crock pot, however in this case, the "GO WISE" consumed 27% less energy using an electrical consumption meter. I attribute that greatly to a better insulated and stronger unit. The time remaining feature is a very nice perk. The slow cook mode is precise for the length of time needed. The food was outstanding. The pressure cooking mode is exceptional and wonderful for quick needs. The meat is extremely tender in a fraction of the time vs conventional cooking. Clean up is outstanding beyond compare. The removable stainless bowl comes sparkling clean with ease. The bowl also has nice markings on the side to gauge measurements. There was just a small challenge locking the lid to the cooking unit, but simply takes some time to grow accustomed to. It seals exceptionally well!

Talked alittle learn how to operate ( never used a pressure cooker before) but I love it now. Cooked turkey in it for Thanksgiving came out great ( would cut time by 5-10 minutes the next time) but meat fell of the bone like it said it would. Have cooked chicken and rice and a pot roast in it since. All came out great

Bad experience straight out the box
First time using the cooker, the timer nor pressure setting worked.. food burned (black/scartched bottom) and no steam to release. Thought maybe I'd give it another try since this was my first time using a pressure cooker and I may have done something wrong. My daughter, who has had two pressure cookers, came over and tried it, this time the timer worked but no pressure reading and my chicken started to stick to the bottom of the pan!!!! I finished cooking my chicken in my oven and needless to say, returned it to the store. Maybe I just received a defective product. I really liked the look and the stainless steal pot and it came with all the accessories for an excellent price.

I need to set the pressure cooker on high for 3 hours to make bone broth. The timer stops at 2 hours. why?

Could be that the last hour is for the slow release.... ?

Jean

Its on your quick reference sheet. E3 means unit has overheated. Unplug, let cool down to 0 pressure & make sure lid was properly locked (pin pops out) and you have added at least 1/2 C liquid to pot. If while heating a bunch of pressure escaped, then all your liquid may have been released. On pressure setting there should be no scary hissing of steam as pot pressurizes. If there is then the knob is not set so dots are exactly lined up opposite each other. During heating if steam starts blowing off, lightly tap the pressure lever & steam escape will cease. If you have adequate liquid added and pressure knob is set corretly it pressurizes quietly. Still getting E3? Call GoWise customer service.

Buk

Yes. However, it must be set level. If you hear steam when it's set to "pressure," the knob is not sitting level and you simply need to nudge it level.
