Is this tree is self pollinating

My neighbor has a apple tree . Is that work?
Asked by: Chinn
it needs to be cross-pollinated. use "Anna" variety because golden dorsett is a very early bloomer and anna blooms very early also. if they aren't blooming at same time, then cross pollination can't take place. so whether/not your neighbor's tree would work as a pollinator depends on its variety (and depending how much property/space there would be between the two trees.

Went online and followed the apple tree care and feeding results. The tree never really took off at all. It put on leaves but no new branches. 2018 was no different. Same situation except a few branches pushed out but no height or trunk size increase. In Sept 2018 it just gave up,and dropped all its leaves. In Jan 2019 a check on it found it was dead to the roots as all the branches were try and snapped off. I pushed it over and the base of the trunk snapped off revealing a completely dry and dead tree. I have an Anna Apple bought at the same time, same place doing very well and probably tripled in size. This Dorsett just didn’t have the will to live at all.
