I had it shipped to home depot. I like to open it there and inspect it. It will fit most roofs because you have to trim it to your roof pitch. Using a template made from 1 x 4 s made it easy to get the cuts right.

An eight sided structure would work if the cupula is square. You would have to be very careful trimming the base.

Yes just make sure it is vinyl safe paint. I used Sherwin Williams. They have specific colors just for pvc vinyl.

Cupolas are a way to ventilate a structure – typically related to barn structures.
