Questions & Answers

Where is the hose manufactured?

Asked by Thomas April 28, 2020

Says Made in the USA, with global materials.

Any UV resistance?

Asked by Kevin April 26, 2020

Too early to tell, but the black color is a sign that carbon black was used in the material formulation. If so, the hose should be impervious to UV damage.

what color is the hose

Asked by lee April 17, 2020

Black. However, mine failed in less than a year. So if you buy it, make sure to keep the packaging, including the UPC, and your sales receipt, because you need them to get it replaced when -- not if -- it fails. Also, this is NOT made or sold by Goodyear, they just license their name and logo to Swan Products to trick you into thinking its a higher quality product than it is.

Really surprised with the derogatory answer I received regarding whether this hose material was v...

Asked by boss April 10, 2020

I bought this hose and it failed in less than a year; it's NOT made or sold by Goodyear. Swan Products LLC sells the hose, and they just license the Goodyear name and logo from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. So my guess is that "Exclusive Rubber Formulation" is probably also deceptive, but I'm just another consumer duped by Goodyear name to buy a piece of junk.

Is this a rubber hose or made from vinyl?

Asked by boss April 9, 2020

Is this a serious question? Read the description of the product. It clearly says rubber, and the manufacturer is Goodyear! I can’t help those who won’t read!

Are the couplings and fittings made of 100% SOLID BRASS, or are they Aluminum or other metals tha...

Asked by Bill June 5, 2019

NO! These are aluminum with a gold or brass color plating. Why does this matter??? Because if you leave a fitting like this (aluminum with a coating) on a brass faucet for any length of time it will essentially weld itself to the faucet (hose bib). Trying to remove will require a wrench or channel locks. Some liquid wrench sometimes helps to get them off. Their is a reaction between the different metals that causes Galvanic Corrosions to happen. These fitting are far inferior to solid brass! That is unless you like your hose stuck to the faucet or a brass spray nozzle stuck on the end of the hose.

Are the couplings brass ?

Asked by sawdust May 17, 2019

They are brass in color.

Is this hose as flexible as a washing machine hose?

Asked by Tenosuzan May 28, 2018

every time i turn the water on the hose pops off the faucet

Asked by deekster May 15, 2018

If the washer is not fully seated (in) and flat you are not able to screw the female end of the hose unto the male end of the hose bib (faucet). Because it is not properly connected it is popping off. Look at the washer in the female end of the hose that connects to the hose bib. The washer must be pushed in fully to the back of the female connector and should be flat. Use a popsicle stick or similar piece of wood to push the washer in. A small dab of a quality plumber's silicon grease will help seat the washer.

WHY does the brass coupling/host armor coupling spigot connector get PUSHED OFF (= disconnects/po...

Asked by paul April 11, 2018

Because its very poor quality hose ....Mine lasted about 5 or 6 uses then it burst and the faucet connector popped off, now I can not use it. It's a cheap product using the Good Year Brand. Don't buy.

It kinks like crazy. Bought it 5/1/20, and it bursted just below one of the connectors on 9/23/20. I water my lawn 2X/wk and I due to the kinks before, during, and after watering, it felt it was going to crack sooner or later, but the spot where it bursted was unexpected.

Burned Twice
Bought this hose and used it a few times to wash my car and today it blew out right at the male end. Took it back to Home Depot and they were great and replaced it no questions asked. I get home and start washing my car and the hose blew out again in the exact same spot. You’d think Goodyear would make a good quality product. I will return this one and get a different brand.

I had this for 4 weeks and used it 4 times. Blew out a sizable hole at the male end, right where it connects to the fitting. I hope they give me a refund.

Goodyear name
I notice after just a few months of use, this hose will not last. I paid twice the price thinking it was a Goodyear quality product. But I was wrong. My last cheap hose lasted 15-20 years. I notice the rubber starting to bulge at the end brass coupling and other places. And I have average water pressure. And then it burst. It also tended to "kink" very easily as you moved the hose around.

hose exploded
I’ve has this hose for about 1.5 months and it blew out near the end connector. I will never but this again. The worst.

Garbage, blew up after fifth use
I used this hose five times to wash my car. It was only attached to the line while washing the car and otherwise stored in the garage. On the fifth use it just blew up. $40 for a hose that lasts five uses? My last hose lasted more than five years and was half the price. Don't buy this one, you will regret it. I should have checked the reviews, before I bought it.

Broke within a month
I should have looked up the reviews for this product. It tore a small hole near the nozzle end of the hose making it absolutely useless. I will never buy this brand again!
