AnswersThe data is stored for different times and the longer you want it stored the more you pay. How ever you do not have to have it stored in the cloud.If you need to review what went on outside you door and do not have it stored the info will only be threr a shote time.

Just installed the Google nest hello video doorbell and works great, wiring was simple and setup on the phone was ok ( too many bells and whistles, just want to see if packages arrive). Our old house did have a 8V transformer for the doorbell so we replaced it with a 16V transformer since they recommend 10V or higher (The home depot carries these in stock) The one thing we have learn with other smart tech we have like the smart switches and bulbs is to use 2.4 GHz and not 5GHz as 2.4 GHz can get through walls and doors as 5GHz can have problems and not connect (FYI).

replaced a ring pro unit
replaced a ring pro unit with this after I got tired of the ring not working consistently well. This has been solid for me such that I've installed like 6 more for family and friends so far. Worth the extra money upfront compared to the ring units. It basically has the same specs as the nest outdoor camera (non-iq) but google keeps adding cool features like the package detection and face recognition. I like making up names for the various delivery people.

BUYER BEWARE - Major AI Issue
There is an ongoing issue with many Nest Hello owners where it is no longer detecting people or packages. The Nest is easily worth a 4/5 star before this started but it has been going on for over a year now with no fix. Just google "Nest hello no longer detecting people" and you will see what I mean. And yes, I and many others have reached out to Google to ask for assistance. They all give the same unhelpful procedure. Turn it off, uninstall it, install it, reset settings, blah blah blah it doesn't work. I have sent them numerous videos showing people walking up to my door with no detection with no explanation other than "we are working on it". I even asked if they could send me a second unit just to see if it was a hardware issue but nada, they won't do that as they are convinced it is a software issue. It might be. Seeing how mine and many others worked flawlessly for a time and then randomly began experiencing this issue. For this reason alone I can NOT recommend this product to anyone until this MAJOR issue is fixed. Just yesterday I asked my neighbor to pick up a package that was left on my porch (Nest didn't detect the package, another big problem) and when she went to pick it up it didn't detect her walking up in plain focus and picking it up and walking away. It only records it as motion (or not at all) which won't send a notification to your phone. You can turn on motion notifications but because the Nest is so sensitive you'll receive dozens of notifications an hour, voiding its usefulness. PLEASE FIX THIS!

This is a awesome Doorbell I really like the Facial recognition feature. It works well with my google hubs so when someone rings the doorbell it automatically shows the picture on my google hubs. It also sends notifications to my phone immediately. Highly recommended over any other smart Doorbell

Set up was a bit annoying as you have to use the Nest App even after upgrading to the Google Home App. Once you Scan the QR Code in the Nest App the install walks you thru every step.

This is the second home that I have put the Nest Video doorbells in. Both homes have 2 doorbells. I tried using the Ring doorbells on my current house, but really did not like them nearly as much as the nest doorbells. It was definitely a bonus, that I got the Nest Hub with them this time. I love being able to easily load lots of photos in it, and I can control my thermostats, and monitor my video doorbells with it. Love these products.
