16 in. Pneumatic Universal Wheelbarrow Tire

My father in-law recently gave me his old wheelbarrow, which coincidentally had a flat tire and wouldn’t stay inflated. I was fortunate this month’s products to try out included this replacement tire; what are the odds? The overall quality is better than average I’d say. The bushings are quiet and it rolls straight and true. We’ll see how it holds up over the years but I’d say for as much as I use a wheelbarrow, it’ll last the rest of my lifetime I bet. The kit includes the tire, 16.00”x4.00”-8” and already mounted on a rim with a 5/8” bore; as well as 5/8” and 3/4” bushings to accommodate different size wheel pins. I like how the tread is a little more aggressive, like a riding lawn tractor tire, compared to the old tire which just had straight-lined “tread” which isn’t really even what I’d call tread. Replacement was very fast and easy. Just unscrew the nuts from one side of the wheel pin bracket, slide the pin out and remove the tire, then slide the new tire on and tighten the bracket back down. I made sure to use some high quality Mobil 1 red wheel bearing grease to the pin and bore of the rim before installing, but that’s probably not necessary, a little oil will probably do fine. Pro Tip: before removing the bracket(s), I outlined their position with a Sharpie marker, that way you can get it back into the same position and your tire doesn’t track sideways to the body of the wheelbarrow. Total time start to finish was about 10 minutes flat.

If your like me you use your wheel barrow to the max and it's gets left outside. Don't be left with a flat tire make sure you have a good spare ready. I've used many gorilla brand products and when I saw tire wheel and tire combo I decided it was time as my old tire has seen better days. This combo comes with everything just unbolt your old tire and make sure you have the right bushings installed and your back on your way to many years of service. This is my first tire with this tread and I think it should really help keeping it straight in muddy conditions. You might wonder why don't I just get a flat free tire. I personally will never own a wheelbarrow with one they roll like crap and the bounce of a air filled tire is a big plus. If your tire is not holding air or you has cracking don't be left with a flat tire grab yourself this wheel tire combo and keep on rolling.

It only took minutes to change out the old tire for the new pneumatic tire. But it took awhile to figure out axle was threaded and truly welded with years of rust. It did come loose with a torch, lesson learned. The new Gorilla tire has all the extra bushings and spacers for adapting to about any axle for a good fit plus it having sealed lubricated bushings so hassle free. I really needed a new tire and this worked well above its expectations and should last a long time.

The Gorilla 16-inch pneumatic universal wheelbarrow tire comes already on a steel rim and inflated. This is a tube type tire so there is less chance of losing air. The tire is not intended for road use or for high speeds. There are 2 sizes of bushings depending on the size of your wheelbarrow wheel axle. There are two 3/4-inch bushings and two 5/8-inch bushings so you can use the proper size needed. There are also spacers for 5/8" and 3/4" axles. I am going to use this tire for a wooden wheelbarrow I am going to build.

received the tire today, went on wheelbarrel with no problems, spun the tire and noticed a soft bulge in the center of the tire, looks like the tires tread separated from the solid core.
