Can I use this to bond metal and wood?

I have a roll-up/roll-down garage door that is made of fiberglass front and back over a foam core.

The door is approximately 8 years old. The pull-up handle is secured to the bottom of the door by two self-tapping screws which have loosened up and no longer hold the handle in place. Can I use Gorilla Glue Epoxy to reset the screws and/or glue the handle directly to the door surface?
Asked by: steved47
It would probably work loose in time. This is too dynamic an application for adhesive. I would drill through and replace the screws with stainless-steel bolts and washers.

Can one use it to repair seams in between slabs of granite?

Asked by: leenaud
I would think so. I used it to glue an onyx bookend back together and it's a heavy eagle with the break through his little legs. It dried completely clear and is adhering the onyx very well.

Gorilla 7/8 fl. oz. General Purpose Epoxy is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 363.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Epoxy Glue Applicator These new epoxy glue applicators sure beat the old way of mixing two tubes together. This applicator comes with a cap so you can use just what is needed recap it and good for the next time. I tried Gorilla Epoxy on a marble doorway saddle. I didn't expect it to hold the heavy marble, but wanted something to keep the moisture out and be a strong bond. I mixed the two parts which were squeezed out of the applicator in equal parts by the plunger into a plastic cup and mixed them together with a wooden stick. The glue sets up fast and thickens so don't over mix or you can't spread it. I leveled the inset mortar then covered both parts of the broken marble with epoxy and set the stone into the mortar. I had to let the mortar set for a couple of days, but couldn't be happier with the epoxy seal. I sanded the crack lightly to smooth out epoxy high spots and its looks good, a nice clean repair. I always go for epoxy when there is a difficult gluing job to be done. Gorilla epoxy is an excellent choice.

The other brand has held up for several months but this one actually broke within two weeks. It may be that I need to let it sit undisturbed longer so I'm going to try it again. It gets very hard and is easy to mix since it distributes equal amounts of the compounds with one push of the plunger. I'm confident it will work with most projects.

Earlier versions had a bad cap and unless you used the entire tube you lost product. This is excellent. Neat to mix and no overspill. Bonded aluminum to steel like a weld. Easy clean-up and no problem with fumes. Dried product supports paint perfectly. Generous amount in syringes. Nice re-seal cap kept product fresh for weeks.

The process of opening the twin tubes was a bit messy. One of the tips didn't break off as cleanly as I'd like and I was worried that it would leak when I put the storage cap back on, but that seems to be ok for now. The epoxy makes a strong bond and dries clear. I'd buy it again.

Unfortunately you are not able to use the plunger and injection tube to injection the epoxy directly where you need it. Instead you have to mix separately on a plate and then figure out how to apply it. Makes harder to reach places very challenging.

It didn't hold even though we left it 24 hours drying. I've used other Gorilla products that I was happy with so this was surprising.
