Questions & Answers

Can you use trim pain on this wallpaper? I know it is thicker paint and not sure if this would hold up.

It is very sturdy paper. I haven’t tried trim paint but did use a wash on mine and held up great. Good luck

Abby

You can use a primer before painting if you want but you do not need to.

Can this be applied over existing paneling?

I did not install this over paneling, however, I have put wallpaper over paneling in the past and it worked great. This paper was easy to work with and looks like bead board and much more economical. I hung mine about 32”-34” on the bathroom walls and finished it off with chair rail trim. Have had a lot of compliments on it and it has held up great. No peeling away so far. However, the ammonia added to the water (helps to activate glue - experienced painter taught me that) might have helped. The key to any wallpaper job is a clean smooth surface and properly sealed with a primer. If your paneling has groves this should do a good job in hiding them. As with all paper products be careful not to rip or tear, it’s weaker when wet.

I bought the Martha Stewart beadboard wallpaper years ago, now i Can´t find it online, is this product similar to the Martha Stewart one? I need to replace a few parts but not the whole things, will it show the difference?

I think it would show the difference. I have Martha Stewart on one wall and a different one on the opposite wall. Because they are not together you can't tell the difference, but there is a difference.

I saw an idea on Pinterest to update our old flat interior doors with trim and bead board wallpaper. So after convincing my husband that we can buy new six panel doors for all the bedrooms for $160+ or we can buy this $20 roll of paper, some cheap wood trim, and paint. We took off all the doors sanded them, took off the old painted hinges, measured out and put on the bead board wallpaper, cut and put on the trim, painted, put on the new hinges and same knobs we had, and hung the doors. It looks great! I am so happy when I walk down the hallway now. You can't even buy doors like these without spending half of your kids college fund. The paper is pre-glued and easy to cut and work with. Make sure you don't accidentally hit it with sandpaper it will gouge because it has a kind of puffy texture to it. Now I am looking for other projects to do with this paper because I had a little extra after doing 5 doors!

This is my second order for a roll of this wallpaper. The product itself is very good that when applied properly, looks just like real beadboard. I knocked off one star because both times, one end of the roll was slightly damaged from shipping in a long box, so I had to cut off some of the product -- easier said than done to make a straight cut. I could have returned it, but in both cases, I couldn't afford the time to wait for a re-shipment, as I was on a deadline. This needs to be wrapped more carefully in bubble wrap at both ends of the shipping box to prevent this sort of damage. Thanks.

Love it!
I used this bead board wallpaper on the lower 2/3rds of my kitchen wall to cover uneven walls. It looks so great. Several people asked where they can get some for themselves to do their own homes. It's really not difficult to use. I did use extra paste because other reviews said that it helps. I really can't brag about it enough.

I wanted to put wallpaper in my laundry room based on a Pinterest photo. As I was browsing wallpaper on HomeDepot.com, I came across the Martha Stewart brand bead board paper and was intrigued by the idea. As I continued my research I came across this brand that was slightly cheaper and had more reviews. I am so glad I bought this product. This was my first time using wallpaper so while reading the directions I was surprised to see that I needed to prime the wall first. Wallpaper primer is expensive, but I did it anyway to help ensure my project turned out great. The paper was easy to cut, easy to install and looks great up! I was originally planning to not paint it, but the seams were a little obvious and the paper backing showed through. I ended up caulking the seams, which helped a little, and then I painted the wallpaper. I am in love with the results!

I installed this paper directly over wood paneling. Pre-pasted was a time saver. Just wet it and it went up beautifully. No texture showing through from the paneling. I painted it and it looks like I paid a carpenter to put up beadboard. Would highly recommend this treatment!

So realistic!!!!!!
This is the most incredible wallpaper! It is prepasted, but because I was papering the wainscoting in the bathroom, I wanted to make sure the steam from the shower didn't bring it down, I bought some mildew free adhesive (from Home Depot). I cannot believe how much like the real thing this wallpaper looks on the walls, it even feels like the real thing. I love it so much, I'm looking around for other places to use it.

Great new addition to our laundry room (hopefully soon to our dining room)! We purchased the wallpaper adhesive and the smoothing tool (as home depot recommended). We later found out we did NOT need the wallpaper adhesive as the paper has adhesive (needs to be wet) itself! It took a few tries and practice to get the hang of it, here's what I learned : - MOVE FAST, it dries quickly (we have 9' ceilings), and DON'T do a few feet at a time, do the whole sheet (if you do it this way you will get a LOT of bubbles in the middle) - Use the smoothing tool to brush down and out to remove bubbles - Do the edges last, and add adhesive glue if you need additional - CUT BEFORE you wet (for outlets, etc) the paper will year easily - When adhering it to the wall line up the edges FIRST

White bead board Paintable
I bought this paintable bead board for my master bathroom. I chose this because I had so many rounded sheet rocked corners that I didn't dare put up wood. The only problem that I had with it was making it stick if my seam ended on a corner. I also had to start on a corner right next to my shower door so there was no way to do it differently. I still haven't figured how to make it stick. I had on hand a quart of wallpaper paste but that isn't holding it either. I have to say it looks really sharp and it was something I could do without my husband. I cut eleven 34 inch strips out of one roll with about 16 inches left over. I hope that information helps someone else.

This stuff is great. Thick, easy to put on and readjust if needed. Just getting around to painting it, so can't comment on that part too much at this point. It can dent and get marks in it if you set something heavy on it, so be careful while handling. I've put it on several cabinet doors and regular doors so far (will use a wood border around the edges of it).
