Greenes 309.17 Gal. Cedar Wood Stationary Composter

$ 115 00

Overview

Create an environmentally friendly, economic composting system with Greenes Composting Bins. These cedar bins allow you to turn household waste into a natural food for your lawn, garden, and flower beds. Simply layer greens (such as vegetable and fruit peelings, coffee grounds, tea bags, and grass clippings) and browns (such as eggshells, cardboard, corncobs, and cotton towels) and allow materials to begin to compost. The bins' open design makes it easy to turn the pile every 2-weeks to 3-weeks with a shovel or pitchfork to aerate the product and speed up the breakdown process. Depending on the climate and the mix of materials, your compost will be ready to use in 3-month to 12-months. To keep a continuous supply, create a multi-bin system with our add-on kits, after 1-bin is full and the materials have begun to break down, simply move them to the next bin and begin the process again in the first bin. A 3-bin system will keep the process moving seamlessly. Greenes composting bins are available in 48 in. x 48 in. x 31 in. 41.33 cu. ft. and include 4-posts, 28-boards, and 48-spacers. Cover with a tarp or plywood (not included) if desired.

No door just need to remove a few panels from the front. My panels are difficult to remove so I just leave them out for use as spares.

Asked by: Railf
If you're going to use the compost for a vegetable garden I would not recommend staining it as the toxins from the stain would leach into the compost and your vegetables.

I don't want to set it on the dirt. Is there any problem with setting this on patio blocks?

Asked by: Railf
No problem, as long as the blocks are big enough to support the side pieces too. You probably want the blocks more or less under all teh sides, like a foundation to keep the compost in the bin.
