How long does it to to charge an empty batter?

Asked by Pen December 2, 2018

Less than an hour for 4 amp battery fully discharged. It's a lithium ion battery so you don't need to wait until its fully discharged. TIP: Keep the battery in the house, so it's warm to use and it will charge faster warm also.

How long the battery run time for that blower

This is totally dependent on the nature of the snow. When it is fluffy, I could my entire driveway (about 2.5 times larger than a "typical" two car garage driveway) with a battery and a half (larger one). When the snow is very heavy or icy, I have gone through 4 large and 3 batteries (I have multiple 40V Greenworks products) and still had to use about a half of a recharged large one.

Yes, as long as the Greenworks product is 40V the batteries should work across them.

Great Look and Features!
Customer review from greenworkstools.com logo
I am thankful for my Greenworks 40V snowblower. I use it on my deck and to clear my front door and walkways. It has saved me so much shoveling. It has 2 led lights when it starts to get dark out. I love that you can rotate the chute so easily. Operating the whole snowblower is a breeze. Easy to turn on and start. It does not down with really wet snow but it starts right back up like a champion. The battery lasts at least 20 minutes or more. Plenty of time to get the job done. It also charges quickly for the next round. I would recommend this Greenworks snowblower to all. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Easy to assemble
Customer review from greenworkstools.com logo
I’ve always wanted to make getting the snow off my deck easier. Shoveling takes forever and it hurts my back. I was not looking forward to the first snow fall. I was super excited to find out about this battery powered snow thrower. It sounded like it would be a perfect alternative to shoveling, and would cut my time outside in the cold in half. The outer packaging is nice, gives me info on the product and also show cases the brands other products. Now the inside of the box was lacking in packaging. To me it needed more bubble wrap, or styrofoam, to help stop the item from shifting. The instructions are super easy to follow, and I was able to put the snow thrower together within 20-30 minutes. The first time using it was easy and turning it on is simple. I had no problems at first, then when I hit deeper snow, it got clogged up and turned off. Not a big deal, I just moved it back and restarted it. Unfortunately I don’t think it is meant for deep snow, because it kept stopping. One plus is that when it hits something hard, like a stick, the auto shut off keeps it from spinning and possibly wrecking the machine. Clearing off my large deck took long, but wasn’t hard on my back. I also love the lights on the front, made it easy to see in the dark. The battery didn’t last as long as I thought it should, might have been because of the thicker snow. But it is easy enough to remove and doesn’t take that long to charge. I would recommend this to someone with a paved driveway ( not a long driveway ), or for a sidewalk. I’ll continue to use this, since it is easier on my back and it’s not difficult to operate. Response from Digital Engagement Team December 3, 2019
Hello Juliet34 Thank you for your review. We appreciate your detailed feedback. We are always looking at ways to improve our products and reviews like yours allow us to address our customers’ needs and concerns. We'll take your comments and pass them along to our product design team for future consideration. In the meantime, when you get hit with wet snow, the secret is to take shorter strokes that don’t force the impeller. Taking smaller passes about one-third to one-half the width of the machine, is faster than ploughing through a full path of heavy snow and is easier on the machine. Also adjusting the height of the snow stream by raising the chute deflector, allows the maximum amount of wet snow to be discharged. It is a better snow-blowing technique and it allows the machine to throw the snow further. We hope these suggestions help. If you have any follow up questions or concerns, we welcome you to contact us at1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or by email on info@greenworkstools.com for further assistance. We're happy to help.

Amazing product
Customer review from greenworkstools.com logo
I can’t even say enough good things about this! After setting the Greenworks snow thrower up I was able to get it right outside and put it to work! I was very impressed with how well it worked and the distance it threw the snow. It’s very lightweight and easy to push through the snow. I really like the lights that come on the snow thrower as it makes it easy to use during the evening when it’s getting dark outside. Being able to move the thrower side to side or even straight forward is a awesome feature as well! Another thing that surprised me was how long the battery stayed charged. I was outside for about an hour and it stayed running most of the time. My driveway looks great and I would defiantly purchase this again and highly recommend to anyone that gets snow and is tired of shoveling it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Buyer beware. Bought this snow thrower online. Haven't actually used it yet. When I put it together, it was missing the green plastic on the chute handle, knobs that are used for folding the upper handle and the LED light switch. All of those are on the pictures displayed on the box and also in the instructions and diagrams. I contacted GreenWorks, thinking if some parts are missing, what else could be missing. Their rep was really helpful and we agreed that it would be best to return it to the store and get a different one. Just got my second one and it's missing the exact same parts, even though box still shows them, description on the website talks about folding handle, etc. I can even tell where the LED light switch needs to go on the upper handle bar. Anyway, contacted the same rep. He did some additional digging and I was told that this is a new model, which no longer includes the plastic handle or the light switch. He was nice enough and is now sending the knobs for folding the handle to me. I hope that the always-on LED lights won't draw too much from the battery. Also wish product had accurate description, both on the box and on the website.

Great Electric Option
Customer review from greenworkstools.com logo
I loved the idea of an electric option snow plow and not having to mess with gas. This was high powered enough to clear out the foot of snow we had right before Thanksgiving and did so on a single charge. If you have a large driveway or patio area, it may need to be recharged, but one charge on this baby, went further than I expected! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
