Questions & Answers

how do you pull backwards without the wheel locking up which makes it hard to move?

Asked by al May 10, 2021

You can't back up with self propel engage. Disengage self-propel, come to a stop, push forwsrd just a few inches, then back up. The wheels will move freely in reverse once you give it just a slight push forward after disengaging self-propel, and then begin to back up.

Green works quality mower
After doing extensive research I decided on the Greenworks MO60L424 because of the quality products Greenworks makes. I have several of their products in the 80v line and have been very pleased with their performance. I chose this mower because of the price and the fact that it had dual batteries and came with 2 4ah batteries. My first impressions of this mower was what I expected from it with the exception of the battery life. I have about 3,000 sq feet of lawn and depleted both batteries. My previous Jonsered 58v mower was able to do my yard on just one battery. In all fairness though, my previous mower was not self propelled. Also the grass was a little damp when I used the Greenworks for the first time with the self propelled feature, and used the high lift blade which they say will use more power. It is a nice feature that it comes with two blades. After switching back to the standard blade, I still had 2 lights left on the battery doing my back yard. I haven’t used the mulching feature only bagged the clippings. The cut is superior, nice and even. The self propelled is adjustable and I use it on the middle setting. Suction is fantastic picking up leaves in the yard where my previous wouldn’t. I also like the fact that it folds for storage saving a lot of space in my shed. The head lights are another cool feature that are very bright and will help when cutting the grass at dusk. I did try the turbo feature which drastically increases the motor speed at the expense of battery life, but should be very helpful in the fall. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Sturdy mower.
Lots of power, does a great cut. I get about an hour of run time. My lawn was pretty thick with a mixture of grasses, it's a new build. I had the battery already from my blower which also works amazingly. I plan on buying weed trimmer next. The mower is light to push as well!

Who knew???
I honestly dont know how anyone could complain about this equipment.. I'm able to mow the front yard pictured, edge it and blow clipping on one 5 amp battery.. and even mow the backyard. No exaggeration because it was accomplished multiple times. I even accidentally put my 2 amp battery in mower and completed the front yard... but then of course realized when it stopped I had wrong battery.. But I was very impressed by the mistake. Overall great purchase! Now I own the mower, edger, trimmer and blower for less than the competitors price, but with same results! Note - cut grass when dry.

Love this mower!!
This was a gift from my family for my 60th birthday!! I absolutely love everything about this mower!! It is so easy to use, quiet, powerful, self-propelled, mulching, long-lasting batteries!! My neighbors are all jealous with their loud, polluting machines!! Highly recommended - wish I had switched to this environmentally friendly mower years ago! Thanks Greenworks!!

Awesome Mower; Powerful and Quiet
This is my first jump into the 60 volt products, and it’s a good one. I figured this mower would be fairy quiet, but it beat expectations. It has all the bells and whistles. Headlights, stores upright, different speed self propel, bag or mulch, and crazy easy to start. Two batteries gives it so much run time, and it only took one to mow my whole yard. Awesome product.

Absolutely Amazing
I will NEVER go back to gas anything after getting this mower. Finely grinds the grass, incredibly easy to handle and even more so to adjust height. Stores super easy at the front of my garage, and so far I haven’t needed more than 1/2 of 1 battery for our house, which sits on 10,000 sq ft lot. The speed of this will actually run away from my wife, but is perfect for me as I have very long legs. I actually mowed at night the other night - which is amazing since I live in Florida and didn’t have to get sweaty to mow! I’m actually excited for my current weed eater/edger to die so I can replace it with the 60v version from Greenworks!

Best Lawn Mower Outstanding !!!
I want to say this the best ever, no more gas, load engines . I wish everyone had one cuts great and is so easy to use. My joke with my neighbors is "you know what l have too do to winterize my lawn mower?--- WAX IT !! lol Really the cut, the batteries, the ease of operation is unmatched by those gas machines. Already two of my neighbors bought one. I love the handle and controls. The smart cut technology works great the engine knows when there is load and speeds up, no load engine slows down.Well worth the money do it you'll love it.

Worth buying
It's quiet, cuts regular grass great. As advertised, thick grass stalls the motor but my gas mower chokes on that stuff too. The handle angles up higher than my gas mower so I have to get used to maneuvering around differently but no problem. I hope it lasts for many years.
Awesome mower cuts thru 3 foot high weeds
I have had this mower for over a year. I love it. I am a 63yr old female and I use it to cut all my lawns on my one acre property in North Carolina. There are hilly and bumpy areas. I have mowed large woody weeds up to 3 feet high. I have two batteries to finish the job. The self propelled feature is great. 10 stars.

Great replacement for a gas mower
I needed to replace a conventional self propelled mower and didn't want to buy another gas powered lawn tool. I bought this in June and have been using it every week all summer. I have a lawn that's mostly hills, so I needed the self propelled version. It works so well that I can push it most of the time. I only use the self propelled feature part of the time. I get through my average sized suburban lawn on one battery and still have juice left! I love how it folds up in my shed giving me extra room too. My first Greenworks tool was the 60v blower. I liked that so much that I bought the trimmer next. Now since I'm so happy with the mower, I've got the chainsaw and dethatcher on my wish list! Just a great tool family!
