Q:How many pounds of nails for 16 squares of shingles
by|Aug 18, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Depends on exposure and shingle size. General rule of thumb… Generally, you should use four nails per shingle. For regular three-tab shingles, this would require 320 nails per square. For high wind areas or when shingles are being applied to a mansard, six nails per shingle are required (480 nails per square).

I asked five people to help me put 12 bundles of "Architect" shingles that I asked them to tell me which shingles were the Architect ones. I ended up loading the shingles myself, then brought them home for the guy doing the job only to be told they weren't the Architect ones that he wanted, they weren't Architect ones at all! Total incompetence from all five people!
