No. Standard nails
No, but the nail heads will be much more visible.
says 867 quantity where's Ron get his numbers?
How many roofing nails per 1 pound box
Yes
1 1/4 inch
I would use at least 1 3/4 inch as for how many you need would be about 140-150. But remember if you are putting a new layer over the old some manufacturers won't warranty the new shingles and if they do it's usually at a reduced life.
636 nails
2 1/2 inch nails are the correct size because of expansion & contraction, however, Check with the installation guide to find out if they recommend a special nail due to weight. They may suggest a ridged flooring nail with a washer
Using my handy-dandy calculator, I am going to say approximately 760 pieces. (A 50 pound box has 7,600 pieces, so a 5 pound box would have 1/10 as many. This is just a guesstimate!
