#6 x 1-5/8 in. Philips Bugle-Head Coarse Thread Sharp Point Drywall Screw is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 111.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from rough hands. I'm a remodeler and have been using these 1.5/8 drywall screws for years, so that makes it easy to notice any product changes. it really didn't matter to me at first but when my wife complained of me scratching on her skin with my hands, she grabbed the magnifying glass and tweezers to discover my hands and fingers covered by black, metal, micro splinters that comes from handling these rough finished screws. they used to have a smooth finish for easy handling but now I can't touch my wife's b_ _ _ after handling these..... would like the smooth finish back if possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Screws for the Shop I use these screws in the shop to build jigs and fixtures, and for shelving, cleats, benches, and for holding up lights. I used to buy the one pound boxes, and be very careful about how many screws I used. Ever since I got the 25 lb bucket, I have had a new sense of freedom and creativity that has allowed me to try building new things in the shop. Instead of saying "I wish I had some place to put all these tools I bought at HD!", now I just say "I'm building me some shelves!" Having plenty of storage has made my shop cleaner, and a more pleasant place. My wife normally vacuums the shop and takes out the trash. When she saw how I was cleaning up, she decided to make curtains for the windows in the shop. She went to the fabric store and found some Bud LIte motif cloth, and made curtains for all the windows. I put the curtain rods up with #8 x 1-5/8 in. Coarse Drywall Screws (25 lb.-Pack).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value, effective fasteners I use these sheetrock screws around the house for repairs and installations. When a floorboard loosens or squeaks, I shoot about a dozen of the screws into it at various places. Blessed silence ensues. Hanging up curtains from the window casings is a snap. A row of sheetrock screws across the top negates the need for complicated and expensive curtain rods. The bed slats kept relocating to one end from vigorous lateral action. A few sheetrock screws in each slat prevented dreaded mattress teeter tottering on date nights. Finally, these screws work well on sheetrock, too. I had to cover a wall of windows that faced the neighbor's house, for privacy. (theirs). Six sheets of Home Depot 1/2" sheetrock and a few hunded screws later, problem solved.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality drywall screws These have a thicker shank which seems good at first, but it is only to make up for poor quality steel. Over 60% of these screws broke their heads off when I was trying to attach drywall to old oak studs. I had another brand that has smaller shanks that almost never broke and the Phillips slots were better formed and were only a dollar more expensive. These might be ok for new construction (into soft SPF studs) but not for older stronger oak framed homes, which also makes me wonder if they really all that good for even new construction.
