Product Overview

Grip-Rite drywall screws are used when installing gypsum board to wood studs. They have a sharp point to pierce through drywall, and a coarse thread design to help grab into wood studs. Once the screw has been driven, the bugle head allows for quick and easy countersinking.
  • Made of steel construction
  • Phosphate coated to make driving easier, and to provide a good base for finishes such as paint
  • Bugle Philips head driven
  • Made to conform to ASTM C1002
  • California residents

I wouldn't recommend for outdoor use, they're drywall screws, may hold up for a couple years but probably start rusting through after that. Unless you live in the desert than they may hold up.

Working for a medical device manufacturer that uses none of the Prop 65 substances in our devices... we still put a link to the Prop 65 warning on our website, just to help prevent against opportunistic attorneys / law firms who may file suit just because we didn't show the warning. I've worked in the pharma / medical device industry for over 35 years, and Prop 65 is the most ridiculous thing to come along. I'm guessing GripRite / Home Depot show that warning for the same reason.

Good product
I have had these drywall screws for almost 4 years now and I have really liked using them. They bite good into the drywall and they accept a phillips head bit just fine. I've used these multiple times with no problems for home projects. These have met my expectations and I have not found anything I dislike about them.

Attaching the drywall to the studs are very difficult with the wrong drywall screws. These are the correct ones to use. They will hold the drywall to the studs for years to come.

This is the Greatest Screw I have purchased in a long while. They work great! We have been Screwing up the cabin remodel for a month now and this screw made it happen. The original screws we had were to short. 1-5/8" works great. I will buy them again next time I am in the store!

4 out of the 20 screws used so far have badly cut Phillips slots. As you can see by the picture the slot is partially filled with metal. This has the added problem of damaging your bits for it doesn't sear well.

Worst sheetrock screws I've ever used. There is at least two to three pounds in each bucket that are unusable. The heads are not molded correctly and will not fit on the drill bit tip. There seems to be one or two in almost every handful.

We redid our entire kitchen using this brand of screws - all different sizes. Highly recommend them. never had a stripped screw in all the ones we used. from demo to rebuilding, these screws were perfect. See our progress in the attached.
