Pure Junk
Check out my video on some of the things I’ve been through with my grizzly drill press at https://youtu.be/60fkctBedpo. I have had the drill press for appx a month, and have yet to be able to use it due to the numerous defects. HOPEFULLY THE PRESIDENT OF GRIZZLY SEES MY POST!! Here’s an up to date list below.
1) scratch on table out of the box
2) broken knob
3) light socket came unscrewed inside head housing when trying to install first bulb
4) spindle popping intermittently when rotating handle down
5) spindle sticking due to tension spring not being lined from factory
6) belts ruined due to mechanical issues
7) motor not mounted properly from factory
8) excess metal not machined off of precision milled surface for pole support
9) over spray of paint on Milled surface
10) center pulley wobbling when rotated by hand
11) defective brand new warranty parts sent to me
12) warranty part needed on back order
13) grizzly stating they would send center pulley as an assembly...instead I’m expected to press metric bearings into pulley housing, and press shaft into pulley bearings.
The quality control on my piece of equipment was a joke. Buyers beware, and check out my channel.

Overall, a very good 1.5hp drill for the money. I took off a star for a couple of fit and finish types of things: first, the table was not properly horizontal, it was off by 2-3 degrees and you need a very large socket to loosen the bolt that holds it in place (needed my tractor wrenches). Second, the fixture for the light came loose when I put the bulb in. It works, but I suspect I'll have to tear the thing apart when it burns out, and the only way in is through the pulley mechanism. Otherwise, it's been plowing through 1/2" 316 stainless without breaking a sweat.
