Is this unit offset enough to allow the use of the other outlet in a standard 2 outlet receptacle or does it physically block the other outlet?

If you look at the pictures, you can clearly see that the prongs are set far enough to one end as to not block the second outlet on a two outlet wall plate.

Is this item actually UL Listed?

I know there are a lot of products out of china with a UL seal on it, even though they don't actually hold the listing. Given the price, that there isn't a known manufacturer attached to the product, and this is being attached to mains power, this is something that's important to me relative to fire hazards.

According to email from them, they advise no more than 1 kW power draw so <10 Amp. Full UL certification should permit 1.5 kW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ECO Plugs -- Absolutely AMAZING This is a MUST HAVE gadget for your home or office. You load the ECO PLUGS app onto your smartphone, then plug in the unit to any un-switched wall outlet. When it flashes it's blue light, you use your smartphone to go to your WiFi network. You'll see the ECO PLUG which you select. You can then name the plug something unique. You can setup anyone of six different types of TIMERS to automatically have the plug go ON/OFF. It will vary the ON/OFF by 30 minutes so no one knows your really not home. When you are out of your house, you can access the ECO PLUGS app to view if your lamp is ON (Blue) or OFF (Gray). You can set up a second plug, and you can also have an additional smartphone controlling both plugs. I just gave this as gift to a family member. Within 30 minutes, they were contacting me, to say "Thank you." Buy it quickly. They only had a few left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Simple - Just Works! I needed to replace some programmable timers I used for window candle lights. I bought a box (contains 2 outlet plugs) hoping they would live up to the features listed on the box, they did. They worked so well I bought 3 more boxes and even rigged one up in a weatherproof box to work my Christmas display outside! The setup instructions worked flawlessly. The switches are controlled by a smartphone app. I have the app installed on two smartphones, a android and iPhone, both work great. The switches are programmable, I have mine set to come on 15 minutes before sunset and to shut off at 11:00. I can run any of them on or off via the smartphone app from anywhere I have service. So if I'm out and the wind kick up, I can turn off the yard display. These things work great and are worth every penny!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It sends your SSID and wifi password to a server out of the country This ECO Plug uses a ESP8266 chip with custom firmware. A 'hacker' wanted to put his own firmware on it, but before he captured the data being sent from the device. He found out that it sends the wifi network you setup with this device to a server out of the country, it also sends the password to your network in plain text. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bargain wifi plug. This is a great value for the price. You get two wifi controlled plugs and as long as you follow the directions it is easy to set-up. The directions ensure you connect your smartphone wireless to the wireless signal of the plug. After that, just open the app and login to the router. The app has the ability to set up a timer and control the outlet at the same time.

I had to talk my husband into buying this plug because of the WIFI and app features & requirements - even though it was the ONLY grounded timer plug in Home Depot that would suit our needs for size & space. Once we had it up and running he had a complete change of heart and now thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread! Seriously, I understand being hesitant about using newer technologies, but if you already own an Android or Windows device, why not try it? The 2 pack is a fantastic deal, and we like it so much we plan to buy more for stocking stuffers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best WiFi Plugs EVER! I hope they bring these plugs back into the stores. Originally bought these to use with Christmas lights. They worked so great we now have them in the house for every day use. I hope we are able to find them in stores again so we can use them on our Christmas lights again next year without having to take our inside lamps off them. App set up was really easy. Setting schedules: easy! Changing shedules: easy! Naming/renaming what uses the plug: easy! Home Depot: PLEASE BRING THESE PLUGS BACK!
