Product Overview

The Scoring Cutter is used to easily create a clean cut on plastic laminate sheets. The carbide tipped blade scores through the decorative surface, allowing the laminate to break away cleanly. Features a quality double-edged blade – open the cutter and reverse the blade for twice the blade life! Blade is approximately 1/16" wide. An excellent tool for cutting self-edging strips. The No. 344 Scoring Cutter can also be used to score cement based tile backer board and for degrouting work.

    This tool works much easier than shears for cutting Formica. I use a straight edge and score along the back side of the sheet. Several passes, starting with light pressure and going to firm pressure. If you work on a carpeted floor the sheet will start cracking along the line after about 10 passes with the blade. Would be nice if HD stocked replacement blades. I guess it’s more important to offer five different brands of utility knife blades.
