The Gutter Guard doesn't have an aluminum support / "rib" system like the GutterGlove Pro. What will prevent heavy snows from depressing / bending in the surface of the mesh?

I have high hopes that the huge 7 ounce butternuts that are the size of a tennis ball which will fall on these in my back yard do not destroy my system, that is my only fear. However I would not want ribs as in my opinion they would likely hold more leaves as they provide a place for the leaves to bunch up. I think you are better off with these since they have no ribs.

You need a lot. The boxes come with 10 pieces inside. Each piece is 4 feet long. If I were you I would order the 5 boxes to start. You may fall short if you have a lot of corners and just cut as you go. I suggest you draw a layout on a sheet of paper first which shows where you will have to cut for corners and or short pieces. In doing that you will be able to figure out just which pieces you need to cut and the best way to incorporate those cuts into your layout giving you the least amount of waste.

I have several 90 degree turns with my gutters. Do I have to cut each end at a 45 degree angle? Or do they recommend just cutting them straight and butting the ends together?

I highly suggest you draw out your layout on paper so you can try to figure out how many pieces you have to pre cut to lessen waste. I used the short pieces on other sections and had zero waste upon completion. You should buy the right angle measuring tool to measureand pre-mark your corner angles prior to cutting. It is inexpensive, and comes in plastic or metal. Well worth it to get the correct corner cuts!

I have had mine for 15 years and they are wonderful. I personally would NOT try to paint them but if I did I would only try it with spray paint as the holes in the micro mesh are nice and tight. Mine do not even allow the pebbles off the shingles to enter my gutters. Best home improvement money I have ever spent.

The product itself is excellent, as are all the explanatory materials (manual, videos, etc.). A sentence I never thought I'd utter: installing the GutterGuards brought me joy! At 65, I don't relish climbing extension ladders anymore, and with each section installed I thought, "I'm never going to have to do this again!" I had tried other guards before, but none of them were effective at keeping out the redwood needles that plague our gutters and downspouts. Now I just watch as the redwood debris sits on top of the GutterGuards and nothing gets through. I don't mind sweeping the debris off because I can do that from the ground. Two suggestions: (1) I took the time to repair rivets and seams--well worth the extra time. (2) In the manual you'll see you have to cut off this little corner of the mesh on both ends of the outside edge. It's much easier to do this to all the sections at once, while you're on the ground, than to do each piece while on the ladder. I wholeheartedly endorse GutterGuards!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product These are awesome. Well worth the price! After just one day of having them installed, there was a thin layer of leaves covering part of them. I'm thrilled to no longer need to get on a ladder or to clean my gutter extensively. Other gutter guards create more work because they let small things through that eventually clog the gutter. Then in order to remove it, you have to go through the hassle of removing the guards too. Not with these though! If they let anything through, no way it's big enough to clog. A few things to note: (1) It takes a bit to get the hang of it, but once you do, it's quick. In total, 200ft of guards took maybe 4 hours to install. Half of that time was with the first 20 feet. (2) Test these out as you go along. You need a "dip" in the mesh so the water doesn't stream right over the mesh and off the roof. (3) If you'veremoved old gutter guards, the hang-over fascia (?) might actually have been damaged or dislodged, causing water to drip behind the gutters. Fix this before installing these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 4 foot sections were easy to work with and super light weight. And install was simple and muc... The 4 foot sections were easy to work with and super light weight. And install was simple and much faster than the removal of the old thicker gauge old school wire mesh that seems to be a magnet for capturing trigs, needles, leaf stems and debris. I opted to us the self tapping screws rather then the 3M self-adhesive strip, and at 3 screws per 4 foot section it was really easy on, but also really easy off if I had to re-cut, or if I ever had to access the gutters again. The almost surgical grade wire mesh allows water through, but is not trapping any debris like out old wire mesh screen. Major improvement. I would recommend getting both straight and diagonal angle cutting tin snips, as I only bought straight and it took some work to cut on angles for outside corners. Look up the youtube video and read the provided instructions and anyone could do this job. A ladder stabilizer was key for safety and easy assess to the spot on the gutter I was working on.

After cleaning the gutters six times since Spring, I decided enough was enough. I have been thrilled with how the pine needles and birch seeds just fall off the covers. The guards are so thick that I did have difficulty with the self tapping screws, so I purchased stainless steel sheet metal screws. I also drilled a pilot hole. That worked wonderfully. During the last torrential downpour, I watched to see how my Gutter Guard covers were working as compared to my neighbor’s tension gutter covers. The water was flying off her covers but the Gutter Guard covers were handling the water very well. Pretty impressive since I have a story and a half and she has a rambler. I also have to mention their Customer Service staff are fantastic. They really go the extra mile to make sure your installation goes well. After trying almost every big box store type of gutter cover, I am so thankful I found Gutter Guard!! I highly recommend them.

I just installed the Stainless Steel Micro-Mesh Gutter Guard on my gutters. Within a day our place was the recipient of a nice downpour of rain. The water running off the roof flowed smoothly through the mesh, into the gutter and down through the downspouts. I installed the Gutter Guards myself. One idea that worked for me was to use my Dremel rotary tool with a metal cutting blade for cutting the aluminum edges. I started with a pair of tin snips and they worked but the bottom protrusion (provides edge stability) on the aluminum edge makes it hard to cut through. However, the Dremel rotary metal cutting blade works like a knife through hot butter. If you have a Dremel tool, use it! I still used the snips to cut the micro-mesh. There are many tall Ponderosa Pines around our house so these gutter guards are going to save me a lot of work cleaning out gutters (three times a year - pine straw, small pine cones & large pine cones).

They were well made and very easy to install. There were two areas of concern with interior corners and a diverter shield on one end but it was very easy to install. I went to gutterglove website and they addressed the the interior corners and how to cut the pieces to fit. The method I used was slipping the guard under the shingle and taping it down. There were three areas I needed to use screws because of how the gutter was configured but it was simple to use the screws (self drilling)Another consideration was installing lights and keeping the Satellite dish cords on the roof. What I used to tackle that issue was plastic Christmas light holders. You can see it in one of the pictures. Not pictured are those patio lights hanging with the same clips on the back of the house. I would recommend these guards. PS. These guards made it through Dorian. :)

Prior to these gutter guards by Gutterglove the top of our gutters were fully exposed, which meant that once a year I would climb the ladder and clean out all the pine needles that were trapped in the gutters. With all the products that were currently available in the last decade there were nothing that would prevent pine needles from going in until I saw these gutter guards. Upon opening the box I immediately noticed how great the quality were on these gutter gutter guards. The mesh on these guards were strong and tightly knit together. The frame was durable and I do not see it being able to wear down and not bend easily. I appreciate the sturdy 3M double sided sticky tape for extra bonding with the self-taping screws that were also provided. Overall, all I can say is that my days of climbing the ladder and digging out pounds and pounds of pine needle are over thanks to Gutterglove. These gutter guards are wonderful and I highly recommended them. Installation process I would consider it to be quite easy but that is contingent on the height of home.

Our pet porcupine after a month of needles raining down from our neighbor's trees. After having removed other gutter system failures, this was selected based on the fine mesh screen. We installed 40 feet of this over brand new gutters after a remodel on a 5-in-12 pitch roof using the included screws (the tape supplied is too permanent). One note about installing: you really want high leverage snips or a fine-tooth hacksaw to cut the aluminum extrusion backbone. Thus far they have been up for a month, and we have had moderate rain on several occasions. The only problem is that our neighbor's pine trees shed such fine needles that they get stuck in the mesh and it looks a bit like a porcupine has taken up residence. Don't believe it? Just look at the picture taken AFTER cleaning with the recommended brush. My rating is based on my judgement of the product, but my personal experience is less than ideal. So, my bottom line is that you have to choose a gutter guard system based on the challenges you face. This may not be perfect for me but there is nothing better out there since I really have had it with cleaning them out every other month.
