Walnut is one of the most admired and sought-after hardwoods on the planet. Such an admired wood makes an amazing focal point in any remodel. With walnut butcher block countertops, your final result is an unparalleled grace and elegance coupled with the warmth that only real wood can provide. Customizing your home with butcher block also provides a natural antimicrobial surface to your home. Upkeep is annual after initial maintenance when using oil only and almost nonexistent when choosing polyurethane. Butcher block counter tops and backsplash are also biodegradable. You'll have nothing to worry about permanent waste if you do decide to replace them eventually. However, with proper installation and care, these countertops will last decades. Remember that wood is a product of nature. The allure of a pure wood product is that no two grain patterns, textures or colors are identical. Wood is affected by soil contents, climate, growth patterns and many other factors. These wonderfully unique features will ensure a one of a kind look for your remodel. Differences in grain, coloring or mineral streaking, as it occurred in nature, will not be considered a defect or reason for a replacement. Wood will also change with time, gradually responding to its environment, and aging with beauty.

A:Â Andrea - Great question. We have had customers install this with an induction cooktop and they haven't experienced any issues with the heat. You should be okay to install. Just be sure to finish all sides of this piece before installation. I have included a link to aid in your install. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhKF-7FIr7s Thank you-- Hardwood Reflections.

Beautiful Wood Top
We are very impressed with this European Walnut slab. One side had a few small knots, but the other side was completely free of any blemishes. The eased edges needed a bit more easing, and after several rounds of sanding and tung oil, it is really looking great. Would highly recommend.

The natural beauty and variation in a product like this...
The natural beauty and variation in a product like this is amazing. We used them to make custom desks and they turned out better than I could have hoped for. Definately would recommend. When you receive them they will look much lighter than expected. We used odies oil to finish them. Again turned out better than expected would definitely recommend

Beautiful European Walnut Butcher Block
This Hardwood Reflections European Walnut Butcher block made a beautiful top for my freestanding island. Love it! It came to us in perfect condition. We sanded it a little with 220 grit sandpaper then treated it with Dark Half tung oil with a citric solvent from the Milk Paint Company. Most definitely recommend it!

It's Beautiful. Solid. Sure to last decades.
I mainly used Minwax Tung Oil Finish, and a little bit of Helsman Spar Urethane. Applied about 4 coats with the tung oil, and added a little spar urethane to the tung oil on the last 2.
Finished using 0000 steel wool saturated with mineral spirits. It feel's literally baby smooth. Awes everyone that rubs their hand on it hahaha.

Beautiful
We used Howard’s mineral oil and it’s beautiful. The wood joints are a great detail. It’s the perfect color when oiled. We used it for shallow cabinets and plan to use the rest for a shelf!

Great product! Sealed with a tung oil blend and it...
Great product! Sealed with a tung oil blend and it looks and feels fantastic! Be sure to do a light sanding and cleaning before you do anything, as there may be some small imperfections from shipping. Something I didn't know before getting the butcher block, though it says it on the package, is that you'll need to seal or stain it within 4 hours of opening the package. So keep that in mind. Image shows one with a single coat of tung oil, and the other is unfinished for comparison.

The strength and shock resistance of ash makes it incredibly popular in the woodworking community, although its incredible beauty and smooth, uniform grain can also play a supporting role. Here, the ash is thermos-treated, caramelizing the sugars in the wood, allowing it to become more water resistant and decay resistant.Countertops are made of solid wood staves which are finger jointed and edge glued for a classic butcher block look.
