Unfinished Ash 4 ft. L x 25 in. D x 1.5 in. T Butcher Block Countertop

Cut it in 2 pieces to make 2 shelves for my laundry room. Very high quality piece of wood. Arrived with no damage, almost no blemishes. I purchased a 10 foot piece and it was very heavy, you may need a second person to help maneuver it. Very happy with purchase. I have a left over piece, I am going to use it as a cutting board (after I confirm its food safe). Very happy with the purchase. Have to get it shipped and pay for shipping but its too heavy to pick up anyway. Would purchase again.

I had a good experience and love the results, finished firstly with the mineral oil then realized I need more protection so covered it with 3 layers of oil-based poly.

This piece was a perfect fit for project. It ended up having wonderful look with the gel stain we used.

EVEN BETTER THAN EXPECTED! The unfinished countertop was so gorgeous I hesitated to stain it, as I originally planned. Even though the lighter ash color looked amazing and arrived in perfect condition I decided to proceed with the original plan to stain it red mahogany. I can’t even believe how gorgeous it looks now and the depth of the colors - just wow! This will definitely be a showpiece in our home and I would HIGHLY recommend it. The quality can't be beaten for such a great price!

Very nice quality. Packaging was better than expected including plastic corner protectors. Delivered ahead of promised date. Accepted stain evenly and looks beautiful with satin polyurethane. Recommended. I use as a stereo shelf with six 2” spikes. Looks great and is super solid.

Used it for my desk and love it. Came well packaged and felt like good quality wood. I sanded it down with 220 grit sandpaper and 400 grit sandpaper, then applied 2 coats of butcher block conditioner on all sides. Then I applied polyurethane to one side but ended up liking the look of bare wood more.

After searching for a nice looking and affordable butcher block for our kitchen island, we came across this one. It looks great and has held up really great too (we have had it for 3 years now) You can't beat the price!

I had to write a review. I bought a home and wanted to replace the old 80's countertops in the kitchen. I am an avid DIYer and wanted something nice but not too expensive. I first looked at other types of countertops but with purchase and installation, I couldn't afford it. I thought of concrete but my kitchen design would have required an "in place" install... my kitchen is on the second floor... no way... too much work and a mess. So I kept looking... and found Hardwood Reflections at the Home Depot website. Reviews were good and after checking out the options I decided on the Ash. At first the items I needed to complete the job were unavailable (2-8 fts and 1-wider 6ft)... so I waited. It took a little over a month and after a little difficulty with Home Depot delivery and scheduling... I received my items. They ended up stacked against my home, sitting on ice (literally) for a few hours... but made it. I was worried they were damaged by the time spent outside and the delivery guy(s). It looked as if he (or they) had dragged them from the truck to my front door. The corners of the packaging were worn away, the cardboard wet and ragged... and there was a drag mark from the curb to my front door. I was sure I was going to returning them... and asking UPS or whoever to pay for them. So after a bit of heavy lifting on my part I managed to get them up the stairs and into my work area (second floor). I decided to let them acclimate to the temp inside before taking a look, worried I would have to get ready to send them back. The next day I opened them up to see how bad the damage was. There was none... not even a scuff. While the corner that had been dragged along the ground had worn away the cardboard shipping box... the superb packaging surrounding the wood itself was enough to protect the butch block. I was amazed These Ash butcher block countertops are beautiful... even sitting in a hallway waiting for me to install them... a wooden monolith... stunningly beautiful (in a woodworkers eyes at least) The seams are flawless, the finish (one side better than the other) is as advertised. After seeing these up close... I was going to stain them... but I might just oil them and leave them natural. Thanks to the folks in South Dakota for such a beautiful product. This guy in Minnesota appreciates it... A LOT. PS - I have to wait till I can get a few more renovation jobs done (not much space left around my place considering it is a total renovation... floor to ceiling... or more like ceiling to floor) but I intend to get another of the extra wide 6ft sections and make a dining room table as soon as I can.

Pretty wood, well sanded on both sides. Better side had no damage but other side had a few dents. I finished this counter with tung oil twice and it looks very nice. I didn't have to sand at all but plan to round the edges a little. I haven't installed it yet.
