        A:  Mimimartin, These 5-Qt. are really great for organizing small items because they are made of clear plastic and they stack snuggly atop one another. However, they are not designed to contain and protect food because the lids do not seal air-tight. In my opinion it would be safe to enclose and transport individually wrapped edible items in these containers. Cooked or cold storage foods would be better kept in water-proof air-tight enclosures for safety.

        HDX 6 Qt. Premium Shoe Box in Clear is really a well made storage container at a very low price point. I tried a pair of mens shoes and no way. But there are countless ways to utilize them. I think when they refer to a storage box as a shoe box it's the shape they are referring too. Ladies and children shoes might work fine. The top will stay shut and they stack excellent and because of that very design they will not slide well over any surface unless it's slick because of the feet that make it stack so well. The price is amazing. Like me, I bet you could buy a dozen and fill everyone one of them up with stuff. Not a single downside to the product. Be great for legos too!

        Durable and easy to use - but small
        The 6 QT. PREMIUM SHOE BOX IN CLEAR is a very well made box to store shoes - but don't be fooled: 6 quarts is not big at all. If you're trying to keep your shoes all separate and organized, these are the boxes for you - but if not. and you're trying to move - or consolidate and make more space in your closet, these boxes will not help. They are easy to move around, label, and so forth - but they are for individual pairs of shoes

        I love that it's all clear, including the lid, and that the bottom of the box does not taper down...
        I love that it's all clear, including the lid, and that the bottom of the box does not taper down and become substantially smaller than the top. I just wish it was an inch longer, or that they had the exact same box at a comparable price with slightly larger dimensions. Maybe an inch more all around. There's another box that is comparable only it has a white lid instead of clear and it costs a dollar less
