How durable is this? Want to use it to create a roll-down screen for my outdoor cat enclosure to protect from rain and snow. I trim my cats' claws and I know it will get damaged and need replaced over time regardless, but would it even be worth buying? I understand that this is not the intended use of this product.

It is easy to install and inexpensive. I have had cats since the 70s and we did this in the winter on the screen porch. It is not the kind of material that most kitties are interested in scratching. Our cats never bothered it.

I just bought this product at my local Home Depot, the label reads clear but it and all the other ones at the store, are frosted. There is a perfume smell to it, my concern is about the acid content, as I am using it to wrap paintings. What is that horrible smell and will it harm things that come in contact with it?
