Customer Reviews

11 in. Miter Box with Saw is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 166.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disposable or light work only I purchased this product as a one time use tool intended for a few cuts (my miter saw was not brought to the job site). That being said, it was a cost effective solution to not having the proper tools available to put the final pieces of trim on a project. It worked for what I bought it for, but I would not recommend using it for large projects or for any large pieces of wood (small trim only). These types of boxes are hard to use when they are not mounted to something study and could result in bad cuts if you allow it to move around too much when cutting trim. The saw will cut wood but is very flimsy but will get you through a few cuts, especially on softer woods.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever! This was a very bad product that it prompted me to write my first review on HomeDepot! I purchased it to cut baseboards and quarter rounds and ended up having to give up and try alternate options. - The saw is of a very bad quality. It is not sharp and needs a LOT of time to cut a baseboard. - The height of the miter box for 45 degree cut is higher than the saw, which means you cannot cut all the way through. - The slits on the miter box are too tight that the saw doesn't slide easily back and forth. These issues makes this miter box/saw practically unusable for any trim work. I am going to try and return this product. Unfortunately I threw all the packaging away, so I'm not sure if I'll be successful returning it though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very bad design You would think there is nothing that can be done wrong with designing a simple miter box and saw, but actually there is. The design only thought about dimensions for cutting 90 degree cuts vertically. If you want to cut 45 degree cuts, the mitter box's lenght for that template is longer than the thickness of the provided saw (which has "fatter" top part and doesn't go in all the way). I bought it for cutting trims, which require 45 degree cuts and it's basically useless. Very poor design!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it needs to do. I bought this miter box because my 6 year old son wanted to build a picture frame. I didn't want to spend a lot of money since this is the first time I have needed a miter box. It did what I needed. The corners matched up well. There is s lip on the front of the box that allows you to brace it against the front of a bench which really helped the sawing. The saw was a good quality for the price. Be careful, it is easy to cut the plastic frame with the saw and I don't believe it will hold up for a long time, but it wasn't that expensive to start. I think overall it is a a good value for what you pay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor choice Nothing good is cheap and nothing cheap is good as they say. I wanted the higher priced Stanley miter box and box saw but they were out of stock. Take a hint I told myself. But I was in a rush to finish my project and only needed about 6 angled cuts and I don't have a power miter saw. The plastic box is flimsy and has no easy clamp down method to hold it in place. I tried to be gentle to keep everything lined up but my last and most important cut on aluminum was a 3X3 inch square rail. the 90* cut was slightly crooked due to maybe my error but likely the thin, flexibility of the plastic miter box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective for the price and expectations Need a miter box for around the house or light duty work? Here it is. The saw works well for what it is and the box itself works well, again, for what it is. From cutting window screen frames to length to cutting PVC for a sump pump installation, this will do the trick. I'd be wary of it for aesthetic work such as trim but for making 90 and 45 cuts, this will do the job for cheap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small investment, perfect for small job! The miter box with saw was a great buy. It was easy to use and got the results I was looking for. Great for cutting window trim. First time cutting angles for trimming.
