The plastic bristles are evidently attached with steel wire inside the brush core. The wires rust which causes the plastic bristles to turn brown. There should be no metal inside the brush at all!

Really love this HDX toilet brush and caddy. The price was great, it looks nice in the bathroom and it is made in the USA!! It seems it is hard to find products made in the USA, instead of China, but I always look first. I was very pleased to find this one. This works excellently, too!

Very Good Bowl Brush!
Like other HDX Products the HDX Bowl Brush and Caddy doesn't disappoint. Here are the reasons: The brush sits well in the caddy and doesn't easily fall over; the bristles of the brush are firm enough to brush off even stubborn stains; the top edge of the brissles ends at the perfect position so that the brissles clean well under toilet rim; the design is simple and neat and goes with most bathrooms. Love this brush and recommend it.

Great inexpensive toilet brush
This is very inexpensive so I should probably get another one for the other toilet. It does the job it is designed to do, it has a nice caddy to put it back into and it looks nice and neat sitting next to the toilet. My last brush went into the side of the container it was stored in and used to fall out. This one goes straight down into the caddy and sits in there solidly. It also has a hole in the handle in case you want to hang it up.

Strong Bristles, Easy Grip
As far as toilet bowl brushes go, this one is a good one. It's simple in design and doesn't take up a lot of space (in fact, I can easily hide it just behind the toilet). The plastic handle is still strong and offers a good grip. It doesn't bend under the weight of scrubbing. The bristles are firm and do a good job at getting off toilet grime. Easy buy! Good product!

Bowl Brush and Caddy handy to use
I like to have bowl brush with it's caddy for my bathroom corner behind the commode . it's bristles are hard and stiff. It's round design reaches around the entire toilet bowl in just one motion or more if needed. It is easy to use and cleans after the cleaning use to put it back in the caddy. Or I can hang it up by side of tank with it's bowl on the floor to catch any dripping.
